NEC burners are good. I've seen nec burners for around $38 shipped via online stores. I read somewhere that they were the highest rated burners. Benq is also good too i think.
I have a BenQ and it works good, but it's old technology now, haha. It doesn't do -R dual layers If you're looking for reviews, I found cdfreaks go be a great site. http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/search/B/ They review a lot of burners and they actually review it, not just post up comments on "hey, i like it since it works for me!" type of comments. I just bought this one for my cousin... incase you are looking for a personal recommendation http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/243 ~$45.00 shipped to your door.
