http://akromatika.blogspot.com/2007/07/riaa-sues-11-year-old-for-not-buying.html This article is about the RIAA suing an 11-year girl who didn't buy the latest hillary duff album. "When our analysts prepare fiscal expectations for a given quarter, they follow a certain system," she explained, "For each album, we devise a very precise target demographic and market aggressively and almost exclusively to that demographic. We then assume that every person who falls within that demographic will buy the album, and use that assumption to calculate profit. If, for some reason, our actual earnings do not match with our estimate, we announce a loss. Even if we still make a profit." -spokesperson for Hollyswood Records This is very lame and weak. they're forcing people to buy against their will. also "Lindsay Gale is a criminal and probably uses drugs and supports terrorism," the spokesperson concluded, to raptures of applause. lol
This story looks fake to me; how come a blog knows more than the existing professional newssites when it comes to the subject of RIAA? And this: "Lindsay Gale is a criminal and probably uses drugs and supports terrorism," the spokesperson concluded, to raptures of applause." Although the RIAA are often seen as evil bunch of materialistic pigs, I don't think they would ever be that unprofessional towards the 'victim'. None of my sources mentiones this case, it's just an attempt to make the RIAA black. I don't agree with the RIAA though (hate them too) , just think this isn't really helping the case if people try to throw fake stories in the world.
this is fake right? there's no way they can do this. people can't say all that stuff, encouraging dangerous sports and teenage pregnancies -unsure
I think Taxloss is right; there's no way that this story could be true. First off, I went online to try to see if I could locate any other sources that reported this incident about the RIAA filing a lawsuit against an 11-year old for her refusal to purchase a Hillary Duff CD. I wasn't able to locate any other professional level resources such as news reporting sites that discussed about this case. Anyone around the world could just register their own online blog and post fake stories up for the general public to see. Second of all, this sounds extreme to an unprofessional level in which the lawsuit would've been an illegitimate one, bearing an argument that is totally unethnical, irrational, and nonsensical. I don't really know much background about the RIAA, but even if they were that insistant on targeting a particular demographic to purchase a product, it would be immoral for them to perceive an innocent 11-year old in that way or blame her for drug abuse and support of terrorism - simply irrelevant and unrelated to the original case. No matter how shady RIAA's background might be, I don't think they would be such idiots... This is a fake story, hands down.
Obviously this is a fake story because another story on the blog is about a fetus aborting the mom. Fetus Aborts Unwanted Mother Johnny Desmond, the nine-week old fetus who captured the world's attention with his pioneering stand for fetal rights, was cut out of his mother's uterus and transferred to a special incubator early this afternoon by two surgeons at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. It was the bittersweet climax to a long but ultimately successful legal struggle waged by the fetus to be granted the right to abort his mother, 19-year old Lori Desmond of Sacramento, California. In the end, the outcome rested on two major decisions: the decision of the Supreme Court to award Johnny the right to choose, and Johnny's subsequent decision to exercise his new right and abort. Judge Lee, who has become the Supreme Court's unofficial spokesperson with regard to the controversial decision, explained the Supreme Court's reasoning several hours after it was handed down late last night. "The fetus, Jonathan H. Desmond, had no say in his conception. He was not asked whether he wanted to be conceived, or by whom. He was simply thrust into a situation and given no choice but to accept the circumstances. Our decision was to grant him the power to change those circumstances."
a fetus that can abort his mother................stupid and whoever believes this is true really gotta get his/her iq checked out
guess its because they expect her to buy it and isnt the criminal and drug user comment really messed up?
Oh my god...that's about the funniest and laughable thing I have ever read...I literalled LOL'ed when I read this, hahaha...A fetus aborting his mother?...changing his circumstances about whether or not he wanted to be conceived and by whom? Whoever wrote this has a great sense of humor....obviously NOT meant to be real, lol!
^ One of the dumbest things I've ever read. Spam action; not bothering to read the blog or the first few replies... otherwise it was clear it was fake. Or have we just found the PA member with the IQ of an amoeba?
