I've done a little research on the pros and cons of rooting. I was just wondering if anyone on PA has experience with it? This is the first time I've owned a Android device. My main question is would you guys recommend it? Are the advantages really worth it? I have a Galaxy Nexus HSPA model. Thanks
YOU GOT THE GALAXY NEXUS?!?! Siiiiiiiiiiiiiick. Yo, our phone is the only one with ICS, there's absolutely NO reason to root it right now.
Damn.... noice~! I would have to agree, there's prolly no real reason to root your nexus right now... down the track possibly but right now things seem to be still very much 'in-beta' for your phone. I've read up about some roms but they're not all that stable and functionality-wise don't add much. Having said that, i've rooted everyone of my android phones...but the premise was to add new features and/or enhance the existing battery life and to kill carrier brand crapware they like to install on the phones. . .
Yea I didn't plan to root it right away either. I was just curious in case I ever think about it. Basically an Android newbie, so learning things as I go
jump on xda and read up there... they have heaps to read up on and the guys there are generally pretty helpful/friendly
