I've done a little research on the pros and cons of rooting. I was just wondering if anyone on PA has experience with it? This is the first time I've owned a Android device. My main question is would you guys recommend it? Are the advantages really worth it? I have a Galaxy Nexus HSPA model.

    Thanks :)

  2. YOU GOT THE GALAXY NEXUS?!?! Siiiiiiiiiiiiiick.

Yo, our phone is the only one with ICS, there's absolutely NO reason to root it right now.

  3. Damn.... noice~!

I would have to agree, there's prolly no real reason to root your nexus right now... down the track possibly but right now things seem to be still very much 'in-beta' for your phone. I've read up about some roms but they're not all that stable and functionality-wise don't add much.

Having said that, i've rooted everyone of my android phones...but the premise was to add new features and/or enhance the existing battery life and to kill carrier brand crapware they like to install on the phones. . .

Yea I didn't plan to root it right away either. I was just curious in case I ever think about it.

Basically an Android newbie, so learning things as I go :p
