After reports circulated recently that 36-year-old Ruby Lin (林心如) was dating 32-year-old Wallace Huo (霍建華) and even secretly living together for 4 years, fans were quick to pour their blessings upon the couple. Buzz of the romance started when an intimate hugging photograph of Ruby and Wallace was posted on Ruby’s Weibo. It sounds like a match made in “glamorous heaven,” but the romance of The Glamorous Imperial Concubine <倾世皇妃> onscreen lovers from may be completely imaginary! Yesterday, there was clarification that the hugging photograph was uploaded on Ruby’s Weibo on September 20, 2011, and not recently as initially reported. When she had posted the photograph last year, Ruby wrote, “Ho Ho Ho… It’s rare we meet our emperor in the hometown!” It was more likely a publicity stunt coinciding with the promotion of The Glamorous Imperial Concubine. There were also reports that Ruby removed the photograph from Weibo after being teased by friends, Shu Qi (舒淇) and Cecilia Cheung’s(張柏芝) makeup artist and good friend, Rick Chin, who replied to Ruby’s hugging photograph, “Congratulations to the sweet little couple!” Apparently, the photograph still exists on Ruby’s Weibo. Ruby was amused by her friends’ teasing and responded, “Are you guys alright?” She also ended her reply with a smiley emoticon. A netizen commented, “Which media said the photograph was removed? It still exists on Weibo! Reporters just love to fabricate stories! The posting was one year ago, and not recently!” This morning, Ruby also reposted a newspaper article which debunked the romantic rumors between Wallace Huo and herself. Ruby wrote on her Weibo, “Finally…..” as though releasing a sigh of relief! Ruby Looking for Romance Romance rumors surfaced when Ruby and Wallace were filming Sound of Colors <地下鐵> in 2005. The rumors further intensified when Ruby approached Wallace to cast in The Glamorous Imperial Concubine in 2011, which was her first project as a Producer. Ruby invested all her savings in the series. Her decision to cast Wallace as a leading actor confirmed their close budding relationship. Ruby also said that she had chemistry with Wallace, and they worked well together. Ruby is branded as a “diamond bachelorette,” owning a production house, and reportedly worth $400 million RMB!
