Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) is definitely feeling the effect of A Fist Within Four Walls <城寨英雄>. The leading actor, who recently completed a two-day concert in Toronto, Canada with Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) and Vincent Wong (王浩信), met many fans who drove several hours to Toronto just to see him perform.

Attending a recording for a table tennis program yesterday, reporters asked if Ruco’s wealth had increased due to the Four Walls effect. He said, “Not really. I have signed on to do two dramas, so I’ll be busy until March. Hopefully the Four Walls effect would still be around then!” He added that because of his filming schedule, he could not accept any show offers. “[TVB] doesn’t know how much money they’re losing,” he joked.

Ruco, who used to play for the Hong Kong table tennis team, was asked if he would like to compete against Hong Kong’s current table tennis players in a few games.“They’ll definitely go soft on me,” he said. “[Hong Kong’s] table tennis team is much better now than it was before. I am no professional.”

In regards to his recent trip to Canada, Ruco was asked if he also had time to pay Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), his Brother’s Keeper <巨輪> costar, a visit. Linda gave birth to a baby girl, Kelly, last month.

“I was in Toronto, and she’s in Vancouver,” he explained. “It’s a few hours away. But I did send her a message to congratulate her.”

When speaking about Kevin Cheng, who confirmed that he will not be extending his TVB contract when it expires this year, Ruco said, “Really? We didn’t talk about that. But he’s been talking about leaving for many years. The earth is round. We have ex-artists coming back all the time.” Ruco then admitted that contract negotiations always give him the most headaches, and that he does not look forward to the day when his own contract is about to expire.

definitely one of the most humble actors in TVB. I started becoming a fan in his first TVB lead role in the lawyer film, I forgot what it was called. He consistently wowed me every drama he is involved in, a very versatile actor to be exact, he can be the villain, the main lead in a serious drama to comedies.

I still have to say my favorite role from him is still Captain of Destiny, while it's a shitty drama, he was the only one who stood out and made the drama worth watching. Without him, I don't think I would watch past episode 1. His impact on that series is probably the strongest of any other role he is in. While I love the Walled drama, I think with Nancy, and Yuen Qiu, and possibly a few support roles, that his impact isn't as heavy as Captain.

Look forward to all his other dramas he signed up for

Yea, when I saw him as the male lead for that drama I was a bit surprised cause he only had villain roles in probably all his previous work. But that drama proved he was a lead actor material, and he only got lead roles after that.

Apparently Ruco was a late addition to the drama with Him Law and Sammy Sum dropping out. He probably replaced Him Law which I thought Ruco was the better suited actor anyways for the role.

i noticed ruco ever since he was in atv (date with a vampire, one of those sequels) and thought he was acting well already.

ever since he went (back?) to tvb he had shitty roles, but still managed to put in good work, showed that even with a shitty role he would take his role serious. i'm glad it's working out alright now with him. he should get some jobs in movies instead of tvb shows, which are mostly crappy. although i have to admit that the recent few shows are slightly better than the previous ones, which were all smh-comedies.
