It was reported earlier that Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) and Andy Hui (許志安) plan to wed sometime at the end of the year. Although dubbed as the “wedding of the century,” Andy repeatedly denied the wedding in order to protect their privacy. An insider revealed that Sammi and Andy plan to wed overseas and return to Hong Kong for the banquet, inviting over hundreds of family and friends. A date and venue were already chosen, with Sammi allegedly taking time off every day to spend an hour keeping fit and practicing cooking to prepare her life as an well-rounded new bride!

Throughout the year, Andy attended many of his friends’ weddings, which persuaded him to proceed to the next step in life. Many of Sammi’s friends were also becoming parents. Pressured by friends and family, Sammi and Andy finally decided to tie the knot this year, adding more happy occasions to the Year of the Dragon! To prepare for the wedding, the couple already placed a vacation request of three months from September through November. Sources say that the couple decided to wed overseas and return to Hong Kong for the wedding banquet, which will be held in the beginning of October.

The banquet is planned to be held in the Chinese Palace styled Jumbo Floating Restaurant’s Top Deck in Aberdeen Harbour, Hong Kong. Surrounded by sea water on all four sides, the extremely private Top Deck of the floating restaurant is over 9,000 square feet and has a holding capacity of 500 people. It includes two pubs, an outdoor teahouse, an outdoor kitchen, and a room dedicated to entertainment such as a pool and table football. Guests also need to ride private yachts to reach the Top Deck.

    Hanjin Tan Congratulates Andy Hui

On June 25th, Andy was the Best Man at singers Cherrie Choi (蔡立兒) and Au Yeung Tak Fan’s (歐陽德勛) wedding. Hanjin Tan (陳奐仁) and his wife immediately congratulated Andy when they saw him, causing the atmosphere to be extremely awkward.

The groom, Au Yeung Tak Fan, joked that he will throw the wedding bouquet at Sammi. When asked if Andy will catch the bridal bouquet for Sammi, he immediately replied, “Of course not. I know her very well. She will not fight for the bouquet.” Good friends, Edmond Leung (梁漢文) and Dicky Cheung (張衛健), were also present at the wedding, and immediately joked that they will help catch the bouquet for her.

    Andy Denies Wedding

Last Saturday, Andy was invited to the worldwide premiere of Taboo, an extravaganza produced by Franco Dragone Entertainment Group and Macau’s City of Dreams casino. When asked if Andy will hold his wedding in October, Andy said, “October? What is happening in October?” Asked whether Andy will be holding a wedding banquet in the Top Deck of Jumbo Floating Restaurant, Andy said, “No, no, no, no… how did you guys come up with Jumbo? Impossible! Absolutely impossible! It’s not true. It’s all just rumors. Who told you?” Andy’s manager Wallace Kwok (郭啟華) jumped in and said, “Hm! They don’t even eat seafood!” But Top Deck does not necessarily serve seafood!

Andy later clarified, “Time will prove everything, let’s wait until then!” When asked why Hanjin congratulated Andy at Cherrie Choi and Au Yeung Tak Fan’s wedding, Andy said “I was a little drunk. I don’t remember…”
