A few days ago, famous Hong Kong director Derek Yee openly lambasted an actor and actress for their diva attitudes. He explained that he had requested to meet up with the pair of artistes numerous times to discuss about some work projects but got stood up by them instead. It was speculated that Sammi Cheng and Leon Lai were the two artistes he was referring to. On her blog, Hong Kong singer-actress, Sammi Cheng, cleared the misunderstanding and cited poor health issues for her unprecedented no-show attitude a few years ago. She forthrightly admitted that she was the female actress mentioned and sincerely apologized for her act. During the filming for Sammi's 2005 movie, A Sorrow Song, the actress reportedly suffered from depression due to overwhelming stress. She went as far as to lock herself up at home for more than 96 hours and reportedly tore the scripts and banged on the walls of the filming site. After A Sorrow Song hit the big screens, her condition did not improve and she appeared outrageously dressed in overalls for the gala premier in Tokyo. Ever since then, Sammi went on a two-year hiatus and made her comeback in 2007. During that two-year break she took while recuperating from depression, director Yee was said to have asked her out numerous times to discuss about new collaborations and projects. His kind gestures were taken for granted and he got stood up by the actress one too many times. The actress's earnest apologies were accepted by the director and he was at all smiles during a recent interview. The magnanimous man shared that he had clean forgotten about the incident.
