Sammul Chan's pay in filming Chinese Mainland series is 3 times more than in TVB

After Sammul Chan has finished filming TVB series, he went out and made some real money. Regarding the rumor outside that said he's "unkindly" treated by TVB, he declined to elaborate on that more. He only expressed that he has some Chinese Mainland series to film, and the pay is much better compared with the one in TVB, and whenever he filmed a TVB series, he only had 2-3 hours of sleep daily at the most, as everyone already started to work early in the morning, came back home very late, and after taking a bath, they all had to work again right away. But whenever he films a Chinese Mainland series, there is ample allotted rest time, and he said, "Besides the good pay, the most important thing in filming a Chinese Mainland series is I can work with different directors and actors, and it really opens my horizons." Even though Sammul didn't reveal how much he earns per episode in China, but it is heard from the film crew of the Chinese Mainland series that he's currently filming, "Yan Yu Xie Yang", that Sammul's pay per episode is about 70,000 RMB, and it is 3 times higher than his pay in TVB.

Soon all TVB's talent will move over to Mainland if TVB do not review their salary....

but this is harder to compare...mainland china has loads of ppl and sponsors...
and compared to HKG's 8million people and the sponsors are the ones you have seen in the past too...
of course when artist start at a smaller company they gradually enter the larger market...who even didn't have a stepping stone in the first place?
plus when you watch more mainland series, they plot is not that great either, intro music is verying borning and NOT many are a hit in the oversea areas, plot is the same within the range too, just that now the artists speaks in Mandarin and not Cantonese and you might find it "fresh" to you...the quality of the film might not be as great in terms of video/sound quality...

yah right, i don't think artists deserve $50,000 ~ $80,000 HKD per episode...
hollywood movie plots are the with the range too..bad vs good guys, bad wins first time, good makes a comeback and win
video games the same, unlimited and never ending sequeals...ex. Reisdent Evil, G-virus? T-virus? they have the alphabet to go thru
all the producers care about the money only, as long as they can produce shit out they will stay in the industry...just that the better shit gets paid more and the regular shit gets paid less...MJ's This Is It documentary eh? that won't even make $20 million a week if he is still alive

David and Oprah have been doing what they do for decades and their names are what sells.

HK is a smaller market compared to the mainland and with more sponsors there, they will make more money than in HK, most of the time the dramas aren't that good but the ADs, CFs, sponsers are where the real money is at. That's why so many of these artists are going into mainlands market. It's still growing rapidly over there so they have more opportunities. It also helps promotes themselves in other areas in China.

yeah, i believe the HK artistes earn more by filming in Mainland rather than in HK. is that why many of the artistes moves to filming in Mainland then? if so, what the Mainland artiste think then.

I totally agree... TVB is more like a training ground for the artiste......
But still in the long run, TVb ought to do something to prevent talent drain.....
