I need some advice regarding this TV. http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/...evision&subtype=lcdtv&model_cd=LA46A950D1FXXY Samsung 46 inch LA 46A950 I'm a noob when it comes to TV's and all jargon associated with it. Basically, family friend has told us that we can get this TV for $1700 (saving of $1000 from orignal price, similiar RRP).. Only problem is that they have to order it in less than 12 hours (lol), and the fact that we may to buy a new stand for it and move a heap of funiture around (least of problems right now I guess) so yeah, I need some urgent advice/recommendations on whether I should get this TV. I know the price is good (at least I think so), but I have no idea what the TV can do (apart from watching normal TV). Like what are things like HDMI, HD Tuner (Does this TV even have it built-in.. I fail at interpreting stuff) It's won a CNET award (I don't always like their reviews for other electronics, but from other reviews that I've quickly skimmed, it seems like a decent LCD TV. A heap of text.. which doesn't make sense. I'd appreciate any recommendations/advice that anyone could give me in the.. 11 and a half hours left lol.
i say if u can get that tv for that price do it. although i haven't seen a samsung with the model numbers la..... the tv should b a full 1080p res tv so ur getting a great tv. i like how the picture quality of the samsungs come out better than any other brand. hdmi ports is used for like dvd players, game consoles, whatever unit has a hdmi out. it has 4 different slots so u can plug in 4 different units. the good thing is it also has a pc input slot. (vga input acts like a monitor) you can plug in ur laptop or comp and watch tvb series like i do. a hd tuner means that it will pick up anything off air in hd. if u live in the usa its great to have because of the transition we're having in 2009. all tvs sold in the usa r required to have hd tuners built in now. overall its a great tv. i would hop on it if i knew where to get it from. heres best buys website with a similar tv. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...6a950&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1215819880072. it also has customer reviews.
Main thing is to check for warranty Buying cheap stuff sometimes doesnt comes with original warranty from samsung. Good luck
for 1700 bones, make sure your getting 1080P and possibly 120 hz refresh, if your saving 1000 dollars on it, that makes it a 2700 dollar TV, and for that price it should definitely have 120hz.
Alrite, We ended up "buying" it.. As in ordering it. It seems that its so cheap because Samsung are giving their employees discounts. The employees have pretty much asked their friends friends, and there's a whole heap of TV's being bought (according to my friend) and will take a while to get shipped. Anyways, love impulse buying ... I'm trying to confirm the model number of the TV.. I've been getting told different model numbers, so I don't know the specifications of the TV lol. Good thing is that we can cancel the order if we don't want it. Warranty is for 3 years (At least that's been confirmed) Dunno lol. Have no idea how much it could cost where you are.
no wonder its so cheap.... we have sumthing kinda similar to the accommodation. but at best buy we don't get as fat of a discount as the one ur getting. for samsung i think the most is like 350 but the tv is still pretty expensive after discount. we also have one from panasonic n for the 720p 42in lcd it goes down to like 475 after discount and rebate.
actuallyldo you people realize that tv's r decreasing value like cars due to "depression" in canada you can get a similar tv for that price and you have a hd box from your cable compnay right? cause a tv screen that big will look ugly with SD picture i unno about usa but in canada if you pay with visa you get double the warranty
yo i actually meant depression lol,...ppl r buyin less thats y tv r goin cheaperrr....bestbuy fs hve like good deals on tv's these days
