Luis Felipe Scolari has been sensationally sacked by Chelsea. Chelsea have dropped 16 points at home this season. The Brazilian, who joined the Premier League club last summer, was expected to reinvigorate the club's fortunes and lead them to titles at home and in Europe, but after a poor run of form the axe has fallen. Avram Grant, the man Scolari replaced, has emerged as one of the candidates on Chelsea's shortlist to replace the World Cup-winning manager. The other name thought to be on Chelsea's list is Russia's national team coach, Guus Hiddink. Ray Wilkins replaces Scolari on a temporary basis until a full-time replace can be appointed. A statement on the Chelsea website read: "Luiz Felipe Scolari has been dismissed as manager of Chelsea Football Club today (Monday) with immediate effect. The Chelsea board would like to place on record our gratitude for his time as manager. "Felipe has brought many positives to the club since he joined and we all feel a sense of sadness that our relationship has ended so soon. "Unfortunately the results and performances of the team appeared to be deteriorating at a key time in the season. "In order to maintain a challenge for the trophies we are still competing for we felt the only option was to make the change now. "The search for a new manager has already started and we hope to have someone in place as soon as possible. While that continues Assistant Coach Ray Wilkins will take charge of the team on a temporary basis".

a real shocker but i dont think he shouldve been sacked so soon ~ ok, they might not have been done well this season, but they are still Top 4 and in the Champions League. managers need time and not to be sacked at the first sign of trouble. poor Tony Adams too for getting sacked after a few months in charge. heard Zola and Di Matteo as Assistant being touted as a possibility at Stamford Bridge ~

Guus Hiddink could pull this off, he is good friends with Abramovitsj. (but then again, rumor is going around that he might sell Chelsea lol)

chelsea shud not have appoint Scolari as their manager since he's better to coach national team. since early of the season, i'm not confident of him. they sacked him. then, chelsea appointed guus hiddink who had a record of creating miracles which tis decision is a correct one n hiddink had successful spell there. now they have carlo antecolli as manager,it'd b better.
btw, chelsea had a long successful manager who is Jose Mourinho.

So far this season in the top 4 divisions 32 managers have either been sacked or quit, just over half way through the season, so statistically by the end of the season managers who are still with the same club as they had at the beginning of the season will be a small minority.

Actually Tony Adams was sacked before Scolari. I feel no-one is gonna want Avram Grant as manager certainly not me. Well maybe Curbishly will do for Pompey??????

I truly feel Adams was sacked prematurely just when Pompey was starting to get their game together and turning it around BANG another red card from one of those Billionaires who believes cutting jobs cuts expenses, so so sorry Gaydamak, just piss off the same as Arry we can tolerate that but leave our team intact on your way out

soccer teams shud give more time to the newly appointed managers to show their credibility. some managers just need more time to adjust to the new team
