>_> well why can't people just focus on hydrogen cars instead of focusing all their money somewhere else?
No transmissions?? So those motors must be pretty torquey to move the car since its a 1:1 ratio with no tranny. It'll go super fast, lol
^electric motors have good torque and best of all they have torque even when they are not moving, meaning no clutch that volvo badge took the sexyness away...
thats quite a cool idea.. but still on its own it doesnt generate electricity. so the grid better start generating more renewable electricity to allow such ideas to work.
I guess it will be quite dangerous, if you add a little spark on hydrogen, it will explode,, especially when you're using a large amount of hydrogen on cars
Yah, motors then self have alot of torque at any RPM, but direct drive seems alittle much, but it's volvo, os it's gotta be good, lol
but like he says you save 10% of energy cause theres no drive shaft, 10% of energy is a big save simply because hydrogen cells are not commercially viable yet, its still cheaper to buy "expensive" fossil fuels then go hydrogen. And unfortunately thats all that matters really; money.
That is just a Volvo C30 with slight modifications to drivetrain and transmission. This isn't anything new, a lot of people already have it. Such as GM and Tesla.
