Happened in 2005, but court case is still going... Apparently this guy (Stacy Clay Driver) was accused of shoplifting something from a Texas Wal-Mart (every time I read a news article, the item changes: either BB gun, diapers, gift card or sunglasses), anyhow, he was chased by employees who ripped off his shirt and forced him to the ground (summer - hot concrete). While begging to be let up off the ground, he had a heart attack. Witnesses told the employees (there were 5 of them on top of him) and they claimed that the man was on drugs. The man was dead when the ambulance came as well as the police. I've heard of bad Wal-Mart stories before (I've heard of someone who was accused of stealing a hat they had bought at Wal-mart and in court Wal-Mart pulled out a different hat!), but this one is the worse! I've been reading blogs where many people think he deserved to die! What the heck?! There wasn't even proof that he stole anything! Does this upset you?! People just doesn't make sense. Anyone know what's happening with this case? Why sue Wal Mart? Shldn't it be the employees for murder? Another link: http://www.homelandstupidity.us/2005/08/10/wal-mart-employees-kill-suspected-shoplifter/
well I mean you gotta think about the employee's.. all they were doing was trying to catch a thief.. teh guy lucked out having a heart attack right then n there.. lol next time your high blood pressure want to steal something.. try not to get caught! -lol
no one deserved to die like that. Especially if he only stole 30 bucks worth of stuff. the 5 employees should be shot. it is another reason not to shop at walmart
lol whats with the sympathy all of a sudden?? "Sadly, this kind of situation is not unique to Wal-Mart, or even America. At a grocery store in Toronto, security guards killed a man who was stealing baby formula. (Sidenote: Do these guys specifically target people who are stealing stuff for babies? You know, just to make themselves look even worse?) Outside a Lord & Taylor in Dearborn, Michigan, security guards killed a man whose 11-year-old stepdaughter stole a bracelet." http://anthropik.com/2005/08/nobody-likes-what-the-wal-mart-does/
Can't believe I never heard of this before. Anyways, I guess the guy didn't deserve to die. Pretty brutal sentence for shoplifting lol. I don't think the employees are to blame though, they were just doing what they thought was right.
