Shu Qi (舒淇) has had many ups and downs since debuting in the entertainment industry 20 years ago; nevertheless, it were these struggles that made her stronger, more eager, and more successful. In order to reach success, Shu Qi had to sacrifice the one thing that she longs for the most – love. On December 29, Shu Qi updated her Babyou blog – a community blog for women – and listed several of her New Year resolutions. Besides emphasizing her dedication to her film career, the actress also expressed that she will try to “make [herself] busy” in 2013 because she is now, finally, “seriously [considering]” for romance. In the past several years, Shu Qi had been romantically linked with Shawn Yue (余文樂), Eddie Peng (彭于晏), Leehom Wang (王力宏), and Leon Lai (黎明), but none of those rumors were more long-lasting than her rumors with Stephen Fung (馮德倫), whom Shu Qi had be allegedly sharing an on-and-off relationship since 1997. The rumored couple has neither confirmed nor denied their relationship. However, as assumed in Shu Qi’s recent blog post, Stephen may not be quite the boyfriend Shu Qi has in mind just yet. In her blog entry, titled “The Perfect Sheet Music of No Regrets,” the 36-year-old wrote: “I hope that after 2013 comes, I will make myself busy. As for romance and love, I will seriously consider it. When will fate come to me? At the right time, in the right place, with the right people? I am also wishing that I will be able to end my single life!” Tired of Dramatic Films After working continuously without rest for the last several years, Shu Qi decided to take a well-deserved hiatus in 2012. Although she had several films released in 2012, they all had Shu Qi billed as a guest star. Besides looking for love, Shu Qi also mentioned that she hopes to be able to film more comedy and light-hearted movies in 2013, in order to be perceived as a more mature and flexible actress by the audience.
