On the 21st Jan morning, a representative from the police department revealed that the two Sidus HQ employees under investigation have admitted to the illegal eavesdropping of Jeon Ji Hyun’s mobile.
There are a total 3 suspects from Sidus HQ involved in this illegal act. Apart from the company’s representative, Director Park from the production department and the company’s consultant Jung, were also involved. Consultant Jung is also the elder brother of the company’s representative. According to the police, both Park and Jung were summoned for a 7-hour long interrogation on the 20th which then ended in mid-night.
Even though both Park and Jung have already admitted to their crimes, they however gave contradicting details as to who is the mastermind and flow of the act. Hence, the police’s focus now will be to uncover the mastermind behind this illegal act. The police representative also said that they will be summoning the last suspect, the representative of Sidus HQ, for questioning on the 22nd Jan.
It is known that Jeon Ji Hyun has been with Sidus HQ for more than 10 years since her debut at the age 17. Therefore, after this scandal was exposed, people are now puzzled on why would a company do such a thing to their artistes. An insider revealed that this has a large part to do with the Jeon Ji Hyun’s contract coming to an end.
Jeon Ji Hyun’s contract with Sidus HQ will end next month. Despite Sidus HQ promising huge benefits, including opening a subsidiary company just for her, Jeon Ji Hyun was not moved and even terminated all contacts with the company. Hence, it is speculated that Sidus HQ did the illegal cloning of Jeon Ji Hyun’s mobile in order to find out her stand on the renewal of contract.
Wow, I didn’t think they would admit to it so easily. Now I can really draw a parallel to the plot in Choi Ji Woo’s “Star’s Lovers”. Seems like management companies will do anything just to retain their popular artistes. What I think is, there will be more to come. All the Korean artistes had better start checking their mobile phones, especially my Sung Yuri, also in Sidus HQ.
