A public memorial service for the late singer, Sita Chan (陳僖儀), was held on the early evening of May 10 at the Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai, Hong Kong. The Cantopop singer tragically died on April 17 in a car accident in Yau Ma Tei. She was declared dead two hours later at the Kwong Wah Hospital. She was 26 years old. A vigil was held by family and close friends at 5 p.m. to remember the pop singer. A western-styled public memorial service commenced at 6:30 p.m., when Sita’s fans and colleagues gathered together to silently pay their respects to the young talent. The memorial hall was decorated with roses of pink and white, two of Sita’s favorite colors. Among the mourners were Sita’s Lan Kwai Fong 2 <喜愛夜蒲2> costars and collaborators, including director Wilson Chin (錢國偉), costars Kelvin Kwan (關楚耀), Angelina Zhang (張暖雅), and rumored boyfriend, Sammy Sum (沈震軒). Kitty Yuen (阮小儀), Mag Lam (林欣彤), Stephanie Cheng (鄭融), and Terence Siufay (小肥) left the ceremony in tears. TVB music producer Tang Chi Wai (鄧智偉), RubberBand, Shiga Lin (連詩雅), Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒), Kelly Chen (陳慧琳), and others sent their condolences through sympathy flowers and baskets. Sita’s former manager, Paco Wong (黃柏高), wrote “Forever missing you,” on his message board, while Sita’s mother expressed that her heart would feel like shreds whenever she sees Sita’s sheet music drafts lying around the house. She wrote, “With such an outstanding daughter, I have no regrets.” Sita’s younger sister thanked her for being her strongest supporter in the 20 years of her life, and her father expressed, “You are an honor to us all, and I am proud of you.” Sita’s third album, All the Best, was planned to be released on the day of the memorial service. The posthumous album has three CDs, two DVDs, as well as a photo album that consists of messages written to Sita from her friends and fans. Aside from formally released songs, the album track list also recorded some of Sita’s unreleased demo tracks. Due to high demand, the release date for All the Best was pushed back to May 15 to allow time for the production company to print more copies of the album. Sita’s family and friends, however, had exclusive copies of the first print.
