Uninstall K-lite then install the latest CCCP and use Media Player Classic to play the files.

  4. what player are you using, when this happened to me i had to use media player classic (comes with codec pack) and go into options and play around with the sound settings till it worked. for me it was the sound channels cus im running 5.1 setup, that is what it is or something similar im sure.

I remember having a similar problem in the past and it was due to a missing or misconfigured AC3/DTS decoder (at least as far as I can remember). I am using the AC3Filter (http://ac3filter.net/projects/ac3filter) and it works fine with Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 x64.

Could it be that your speakers are incorrectly configured (eg. 5.1 instead of 2.1)
