Not sure if I want to see Khan in the upcoming sequel. The Wrath of Khan was a great movie, and I don't know if I want to see it remade. Secondly, Khan Noonien Singh might be unfamiliar to Star Trek newbies if they didn't watch the original series.
Most likely. Star Trek just wouldn't be Star Trek if the cast changed, since that was an integral component in the TV series and previous movies. However, I gotta say it's refreshing to see people actually enjoying a Star Trek flick (even though the last one wasn't particularly canonical). Hopefully this will lead to a revival of the TV shows!
Considering all the different iterations within the Star Trek universe since the 1960's, I'm surprised at just how at how well the franchise has endured, even with new characterizations and adaptations. IMHO, Roddenberry's idea still retains very strong media potential and I too, personally wish for a new series to take to the airwaves. However, given what passes for "work" in Hollywood nowadays, I wouldn't bet on it. The production costs would be too high to maintain the sort of show that mirrors the original trek. Just look at the airing schedule for hot new shows and it seems that a fraction of what they used to do now counts as a "full" season. Eventually, I'm hoping that perhaps other upstart countries start to fill in the blanks and give US media a run for their money. No, I'm not wishing for a new Turkish version of Star Trek but perhaps better sci-fi from places like the ROK or even the PRC, where movie and new media has been growing in leaps and bounds. So, like the old saying, "live long and prosper" and may the trek universe be ever eternal.
Yea just saw it. Wtf is going on I don't even... Enterprise into the water? Is this Khan? The Japanese version has extra footage reminiscent of Wrath of Khan
Man is that a bigass ship @ 1:17... JJ version of the Excelsior class? New prototype using the Narada's technology?
