Monday October 22, 2007 Hong Kong Metro Radio held a charity 24 hour karaoke marathon at Kowloon City Plaza yesterday. Fans joined celebrities in a giant karaoke party, singing old songs and raising money for worthy causes. Daniel Chan (陳曉東), Nancy Sit (薛家燕), Kelvin Kwan (關楚耀), Yan Ng (吳日言) and newcomers Vega were among the celebrities who took part. Vega joined a group of Daniel's fans to sing some of his old songs and when Daniel saw himself in some of the old videos, he laughed that he looked rather garish. After singing, Daniel laughed again and said: "It did look very gaudy, I was very young and it looked like a child wearing adults' clothing." He admitted to being a microphone-hogger and once even bought his own mic to take to karaoke when he went out with friends. He said that he likes to challenge himself by selecting songs by Faye Wong (王菲). Having returned to the music scene recently, Daniel is currently preparing for his mini-concert in November. Nancy said that she joined some students from her arts centre to sing karaoke on the previous night and as an avid singer, she even has a karaoke set in the back of her people carrier so she can rehearse whilst travelling. Often going to karaoke with her friends and family, Nancy said that this was a good way to relieve stress. The event was closed by the appearance of the final group of guests, singers from Gold Label, including Theresa Fu (傅穎) and Stephy Tang (鄧麗欣) who were rumoured to have fallen out earlier. However, they did not show any animosity and happily posed together in photographs for the press. Theresa explained that she often sees Stephy at the hair salon and they always greet each other there. There is no conflict over who is the number one female in the company because she still feels that she is a newcomer and has a lot to learn. She added that the real number one in the company is Sandy Lam (林憶蓮). Stephy also denied falling out with Theresa. Justin Lo (側田) and Terence Tsui (小肥) were also on hand to lighten the atmosphere and show their support. credits: batgwa.
