Ok, several months ago, i decided to get this: to boost my wireless reception on my Dell inspiron 1525 laptop. But after installing it, ive found that my laptop is mainly reliant on this to gain access to the internet, which means my basic internet connection - i.e. LAN by an ethernet cable does not work anymore. I've tried restarting my comp several times, and after right clicking the tiny 2 computer + earth icon - to signify Internet access is available (bottom right hand corner) several times and goin on 'Diagnose and repair' - it has given me an option to repair my Lan settings, but still this method does not fix my problem. Any solutions available to get back my Lan settings and use the net from ethernet cable? My last option is to reboot my comp - i.e. a fresh OS install, but that is too time consumin. I've already tried turning off my router, then turn back on or taking out the ethernet cable and repluggin on, if anybody suggested these methods. Much appreciated if anyone can help me on this.
lol have you tried resetting your router completely to default specs? There is usually a little button at the back you need to use a pin or pen to poke and hold for like 10 seconds in order to reset to defaults. I was having an issue where my xbox would not recognize my router anymore. I did a reset on the router, went back in and set up the wireless security again from scratch and then my xbox picked it up again. then again this kinda sounds like an issue on the computer end of things, so resetting the router might do shit all lol
oh shit fearless - ur a genius - haha! Just went on the IP of my router and restarted my router, without setting up my net settings again from scratch - and walla - internet on the go with ethernet cable plugged on. Owe you one for that, lols Cheers again for helpin me there
