IL Mare ( 2000 ) The American Version " The Lakehouse " is a remake of this movie. The story begins at the tail end of 1999, as voiceover actress Eun-joo (Jun Ji-hyun) moves out of a seaside home named "Il Mare". Before leaving, Eun-joo leaves a Christmas card in the mailbox, with a message asking the eventual new owner to forward any mail of hers to her new address in the city. Meanwhile, exactly two years prior in 1997, Il Mare's first owner, architect Sung-hyun (Lee Jung-jae), receives Eun-joo's card. Thinking it to be a joke, he writes back to Eun-joo and asks her not to tamper with his mailbox anymore, while pointing out that the 'current year' is 1997. [hide=0] [/hide]
thanks. i actually saw this before. this is a ok movie. the story is romantic - just not really exciting. i suppose i'm not into romance stories much.
OOOh wow I just saw the preview for the american movie with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, I was like "I Want to see that movie" haha this is cool, I'll see this version first and then see how the american one compares.
I love this movie, hopefuly the remake will be as good which i hardly believe, american remake never good as the original. ths 4 up. I love Ji-hyun Jun, and a must be seen starring her "My Sassy Girl" and "Windstruck".
man I watched it, Its alright, I liked it but it got extremely confusing at the beginning when they switched back and forth. I didn't like the ending though
