I am traveling to Hong Kong this summer and I just want to find out more about the Swine Flu situation in Hong Kong. Have anyone been to Hong Kong since the Swine Flu breakout? How is the screening process at the Hong Kong Airport? I am going there from the U.S. Does it take extra longer for Americans to get pass emigration? Thanks
I wouldn't worry about Swine Flu that much in HK, just do the hygenic thing and wash your hands all the time or where your mask if you really are that scared The screening in HK airport will be the usual just those thermal cameras i guess, Swine flu isn't as bad as you think it is, it's curable and it isn't as bad as SARS So I really wouldn't worry about it at all So long as you haven't got a fever or something that the thermal cameras can detect that something wrong wtih you
As long as you don't show signs of sickness during the thermal screening process, you should pass through easily
LOL, if there is a breakout, you would have heard airlines cancelled all flights to HK; with the H5N1 one back then, HK is pretty safe & prepared
Im heading back to hk from canada in a couple of days but i don't think there's any special treatment to any plans arriving from the us or canada. they just wont let you enter hk if you have a fever when you pass by the temperature check
I'm in HK now and all they have is a thermal camera to check everyone's temperature as you arrive. Also when you arrive you have to fill out a health form that asks where you've been in the last 7 days as well as a checklist for any flu symptoms. They don't have much special treatment unless you actually check off one of the symptoms =P
