right ive finally decided to ditch BT cos its crap and cost too much, gonna go with 02 way cheaper only £7.50, i was wondering since this is my first time switching broadband provider am i gonna lose connection for a few days or even weeks? ive just done all the paper work with 02 given mac code etc..of course im still on BT atm im just worried that one morning i wake up n i have no internet connection lol i dont know if 02 is good or not but worth a try anyway XD ~
Since you are switching providers for the first time if may take 5-7 business days. It may vary in different areas, but if u are in a populated area where Broadband connection is used heavily then it will take less then 5-7 business days to put everything back in order. But worst case scenario is that the provider for your Broadband is lazy and takes there sweet time in doing so, but it shouldnt happen.
ye it takes a while before u get switched over but with an mac code, u shouldn't have much downtime hopefully, not sure never switched by an mac code before but in theory u should only have like a max downtime of a day.
usually.... the smartest way when switching providers is that your call and order the stuff you need from the other company and have them set it up for you and THEN cancel...
