TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — A student in Taiwan has died right after winning an eating contest at a university campus, apparently choking on Chinese steamed buns filled with cheese and eggs. Local newspapers Apple Daily and United Daily News say 23-year-old Chen Chun-ing dashed to the bathroom after swallowing two buns in one minute. Other students found him lying on the floor soon afterward. The papers say Chen was rushed to hospital but failed to respond to resuscitation efforts. As competition winner, Chen would have won 2,000 New Taiwan dollars ($60). fuck.. the kid died over 60 dollars
It just goes to show how easy it really is to die, even from something seemingly harmless like an eating contest. Though, I wonder how he choked when he had already won. He must've been still stuffing down buns after the victory. Sucks for him.
wow... feel sorry for that kid~ hope i dun choke and die next time i enter those contests... but bun with cheese and egg?! thats so filling... i think i can feel my heart stopping >.<
That's SAD. I don't understand why people are doing stupid stuffs like this knowing very well that it will hurt themselves. I think it will be extremely hard on the parents. For a university student, he ain't very smart. Sorry to say that but he should've sought help and forget about the contest upon experiencing choking/airway obstruction or he could've have done abdominal thrust on himself by leaning against a chair. Dashing into the bathroom ain't gonna help cuz it doesn't take long to pass out when no air is reaching your brain and organ. If no one found you on time, you just gonna DIE. FOR EVERYONE out there, TAKE CPR and First Aid classes. You CAN save someone and yourself one of these days.
aww that's so sad :( so he was already choking and that's why he was running to the bathroom .. and no one thought to help him? =\
Cheese and egg o__O thats like one of the worst things I would hate to eat in a contest haha!! but poor guy >_<
