  1. Chinese cinema saw unprecedented growth in 2015, not just in its record setting ticket sales, but also in the quality of its paraphernalia, including film posters.

Nanfang Metropolis Daily has come out with a list of 10 best posters of domestic films released in the past year, based on the quality of design and promotional effects.

    Here's the top ten.

    1. My Original Dream

Poster for My Original Dream specially designed for Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. The work, very clean and monochromatic, delivers a perfect message with hints of eroticism, which also is the underlying message of the film.

    2. The Assassin

Simple, with romantic colors, with quaint patterns in the background.

    3. Wolf Totem

    b083fe9562de17f80f910d.jpg

Silhouettes of a wolf and a man are overlapping one another, portraying the theme of the film - a world of co-existence between man and nature.

    4. I am somebody

    b083fe9562de17f80fda0e.jpg

"I may be an extra for now, but I have the ambitions to star as the hero in martial arts films!" The poster says just what the film wants to say.

    5. Devil and Angel

    b083fe9562de17f80ffd0f.jpg

Comic, eye-catching, sarcastic. The poster has it all.

    6. Monkey King: Hero is back

    b083fe9562de17f8101e10.jpg

It is not uncommon to use the backs of characters in posters. This one is just one of them, but the abjection from the Monkey King seeps through, making people wonder what exactly he went through.

    7. Ever Since We Love

    b083fe9562de17f8104611.jpg

Trailers of Ever Since We Love contained more than enough scenes that hinted sex, and this poster echoes just that.

    8. Lost in Hong Kong

    b083fe9562de17f8107512.jpg

It's quite amazing how a few letters could deliver such a strong message.

Editor's note: The poster for Lost in Hong Kong resembles an old type of calendar that has been used in Chinese families for years.

    9. Miss Granny

    b083fe9562de17f810a013.jpg

Elegant, nostalgic, pleasing to the eye. Everything about the poster speaks retro, and the film itself is about a grandmother who regains her youthful appearance.

    10. A Fool

    b083fe9562de17f810d414.jpg

Any Beetles fan would recognize this poster as it was inspired from the album cover of Abby Road, except here, it's three, not four. As to why there's one missing, audiences would have to watch the film to find out.
