37-year-old Tavia Yeung (楊怡) and 32-year-old Him Law (羅仲謙) gave us all major relationship goals when they officially tied the knot at the The Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Sunday. The adorable couple, who dated for six years, officially signed their wedding papers and exchanged their vows in front of close family and friends on October 2, 2016. Him: “She is the Woman I Will Forever Protect and Love” The occasion was marked with both traditional Chinese customs and English royal styles. On Sunday morning, Him and his groomsmen arrived at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel at around eight o’clock to pick up the bride. In a brief interview with the press, Him described his feelings as surreal, as he felt both happy and nervous at the same time. He joked that he would use his money and his handsome groomsmen to bribe the bridesmaids. As nine is a lucky number in Chinese culture, Tavia and Him each had nine bridesmaids and groomsmen. Tavia’s bridesmaids included her older sister Griselda Yeung (楊卓娜), Natalie Tong (唐詩詠), Akina Hong (康華), Claire Yiu (姚嘉妮), Meini Cheung (張美妮), and Sire Ma (馬賽). Him’s groomsmen included Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Ron Ng (吳卓羲), Vincent Wong (王浩信), Pal Sinn (單立文), and Quinn Ho (何君誠). Him, now with Tavia in his hands, returned to the entrance of The Ritz-Carlton two hours later. Tavia appeared in a beautiful golden wedding kua, brightened by a large necklace with three golden pigs, a gift from Steven Ma (馬浚偉). She wore ten golden dragon and phoenix bracelets, five on each arm. After posing for press pictures—in which Tavia and Him gladly kissed for ten seconds under the request of reporters—the newlyweds stepped into their wedding vehicle to head over to Him’s home in Tai Po, where they were to hold a second tea ceremony with Him’s family. The couple returned to the hotel that afternoon to exchange vows and sign wedding papers. Tavia was in tears. Although they had a “secret wedding” in England a few months ago, their Hong Kong wedding felt much more emotional and intimate. “It feels so different to make life vows in the presence of family and friends,” said Him. Him was full of sincerity and emotion when reporters asked the couple if they could share some of their wedding vows. Him said, “I am really thankful to Tavia. From our first date till now, it’s been six years. When we first got together, Tavia was the only one who had unconditionally supported me and trusted me. And in these six years, we’ve experienced so many ups and downs. Now, we’re finally married. This woman is the one. She is the woman I will forever protect and love.” Tavia then said, “The happiness I want is very simple. I don’t need wealth. I don’t need cars. All I want is for us to hold hands, and walk on till old age.” Tavia: “He Gets 80 Points” Both Tavia and Him said they could see children in their future, and admitted that they have stopped taking contraceptives. Hinting that he wants to have more than one child, Him said, “I’d want to have a daughter first. I have an older sister myself, so I know how lucky it is to have one.” The couple are anxious about stepping into the next stage of their lives. Him said he understands that there will be ups and downs in the future, but Tavia will always be the first priority in his life. Tavia then joked that she’s giving Him “80 points” in the husband scale. Asking why she didn’t give Him the full 100 points, Tavia said, “We are both young, so we need to leave in some room for improvement.” When the reporters mentioned that Tavia’s sister, Griselda, gave her a handmade castle as a gift, Tavia immediately broke into tears. Feeling speechless, Tavia said, “I didn’t know about it. I only found out through the news reports. When she first brought it in, I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking at. It is beautiful. My sister always had a love for arts and crafts. My mother as well. I don’t know what to say. I am deeply moved.” Star-Studded Wedding Reception Tavia and Him held a 52-table wedding reception at The Ritz-Carlton. Aside from close family and friends, the couple also invited many of their current and former colleagues in the industry. It was even more star-studded than TVB’s own extravagant anniversary galas! When Tavia took the stage, Him surprised her in an adorable Rilakkuma suit. He then tried to perform George Lam’s (林子祥) song “Need You Every Minute” <分分鐘需要你>, but broke down into tears. Him said afterwards, “When I first started pursuing her, I surprised her in a character suit. Congrats to them! Him still looks like a baby next to Tavia though, but he better treat her right None of that ass slapping/grabbing unless Tavia likes it like that haha. To be at one of these weddings would be awesome I bet. Beautiful wedding dress she has on too, not afraid to share that side action.
