Better order more pizza, the Turtles are here to stay (Picture: 2014) It only opened in the US last week, but a sequel to Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is already in the works. Starring Megan Fox and Will Arnett alongside the titular pizza-loving comic book heroes, Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael, the movie had a strong opening weekend, grossing around $28.7m, reports Deadline. And movie makers Paramount are clearly delighted, already ordering a movie sequel once again with Michael Bay on board and with a projected release date of June 2016. Speaking about the prospect, Paramount president Adam Goodman said: ‘Launching a new take on the Turtles into the feature film world was a daunting task because, as fans of them ourselves, we felt a great responsibility to ensure audiences were going to experience everything they loved about the Turtles, while also getting to see them brought to life in a way they had never been seen before. ‘The result exceeded our high expectations and the response to the film is beyond great, making it all the more fun to get started on the continuation of their story.’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will open in UK cinemas from October 17.
