Discuss! I liked the first two episodes. I was pretty surprised I would like it actually, with the recent crappy shows TVB has been showing us. Obviously, we're all waiting to see Wayne Lai go up in ranks and see what he's up to once there. I liked how they took this show more serious. Proper costumes, proper settings (no typical TVB low budget crappy CGI like King Maker's). One thing I wondered was: is it really possible to be a servant in the palace and once they're "off duty" they can behave whatever way they want? We could see them eating all together, chatting, joking and yelling around I liked it, but I found it a bit unbelievable, but who knows?
Selena's character made me :tear::tear: I see improvement in Selena's acting, but not too much. Her crying improved but some of her dialogues bother me
been over a week now, i still like this series very much. nothing bad about it so far, really. i'm surprised by tvb for once
although that was expected... what i did not expect was that "pang sam sun" (power chan) can actually become a good guy
^ this, those who knows anything about history knows that An De Hai was executed for being involved in political affairs. Even if you don't know it was expected because if he doesn't die, LianYing would not be CiXi #1 servant
anyone else getting annoyed by aimee chan's "acting"? all she does is act like a retard and laugh in a silly way (she did the same in master of play 2012). other than having big boobs and a pretty face, i really don't see a reason for having her in shows... can't see much of the former anyways with these costumes.
I thought her acting was fine, Wo Shek is supposed to be a 16 years old girl, I assume she is suppose to be retarded lol. But its ok, shes not that important of a character. To be honest I quite like Power Chan's acting in this series
personally, i can't stand those "pretty faces who can't act"-"actors", so maybe it's just me overreacting on her. yes, power chan has always been a good actor, but not given the right roles. now he's given the right role and he's showing us what he can do. he showed us he can be a bastard (during the first episodes) and can also be a good guy (although, with dilemmas) and a worthy friend.
True True. Super agree in "The Confidant", Power Chan did make a breakthrough. I enjoyed every part he acts in
the emperor grew up now... aww, i liked the kid so much. his acting is not superb but he has a funny voice, especially when he has to act "powerful", since he's the emperor, giving orders and stuff xD
yesterday's episode was quite bad... the princess (aimee chan) got kidnapped by chan fok, he forces seung hei say bullshit about ngon dak hoi and the emperor's mother in front of the emperor. what i was wondering was: what stops him from speaking the truth in front of the emperor? is chan fok really that powerful?
That is what I'm saying. I doubt they will have the guts to kill the princess, because overall she is part of the royal family.
So is it over? LOL... I haven't really been following, just downloading every once in a while to burn to disc to save for "later" (whenever that is) but, I noticed that the series is currently listed as 29/33? Is that right? It's going to end at 33 episodes? That just seems rather odd to me for some reason.
