You need Algebra Geometry (Discrete mathematics for the first one) I think. At least that's what it was called at my highschool. I went into management so I purged all that stuff from my mind lol. Q2 = ez $$. A 6th grader can do it I think, maybe 5th. Whenever you learn SOHCAHTOA!. It was no doubt that the Chinese had a much higher standards in math. Stereotypes stem from some truth. Problem arises how people apply the stereotypes but that's offtopic.
yeah, this is why China will take over the world in a few years... that is if they don't pollute it to hell first
Wow, the test set by the English uni is the stuff we all have to manage at the age of 14/15? And I would connect the dots in the Chinese version... -sweat
dam its been so long since i did math like that it all looks soo confusing hahaha anyone got accounting questions i can awnser those
I should return back to China/HK/Taiwan.., I don't even know how to start the first one =.= Second one is like 8th grade here...
i'm not surprised. china is gonna take over the world. this reminds me when i was in high school (senior) and i had to tutor freshmans for credit. these kids couldn't even freakin' add! i'm not joking. i spent 2 months with them teaching them how to add double digits. one kid cried b/c he couldn't understand how to carry over a number after 10. i tried to b patient, but after a while i just wanted to beat those kids. where are their parents in all this? i remember when i was like 7 and my mom would make me memorize the times table. she would beat me if i didn't get after a certain time. and when she taught me to add, she would hit my fingers with a hanger if i tried to add with my fingers.
The language structure made a lot of difference. Chinese dont say eleven, twelve, instead ten one, ten two, and so on. The payoffs in ma jong goes on in numbers of base 2.
i saw that today on bbc news lol the english one is like year 9 work which is 3rd year in high school for americans i think while the chinese one not even my maths teacher can do -___-
I remember doing similar Qs to the chinese one in A level maths, but i hate them and have all but forgotten how to do it I hate proof questions
are these problems suppose to be difficult for a college-entrance examination?? come'on, people of PA. not be cocky, but these are just overly elaborated geometric proving questions. i think that anyone that has taken geometry should be able to solve these problems.
