it's back...next Sunday.
They're ba-ack... Seriously though; given the way that season 3 ended with lots of, erm.. "extras" shall we say; I imagine that the first episode or two of the season 4 is going to be a blood bath. Or, in Star Trek (the original series) parlance, it's going to be Red Shirt City, LOL... Also, for season 4, somebody, anybody... gotta be nailing her
This will be interesting. Shame I can't watch the trailer as it says it's not available in my country.
mayne I want to watch, need to do my assignments though and dislike having the anticipation of waiting for the next Sunday TT Might just watch it when they have the season break, or even when S4 finishes lol.
After watching the first ep, I was a bit let down. Yeah, I know I should be fair and realize that the first ep usually sets up the story for subsequent eps, but I can't help but be disappointed after waiting for almost a half a year for this series to resume. Therefore my feeling was, "That's it? This is what I waited all summer for?" What I also didn't like was the... Spoiler: ease with which ...ease with which the ceiling fell at the supermarket. Ceilings aren't just cardboard that people can puncture through, even with erosion. They're made of concrete and steel. The weight of a few zombies would not equate to the several tons of snow that these things are generally rated for. Additionally, how did a whole gang of mindless zombies make it up to the roof in the first place; even with them setting up a loud CD player to attract them? That really woundn't make any sense. They would have set up a sound lure someplace else. Also, there are too many new faces. But since Andrea's gone so there's a drive to pick up another strong female lead. I thought they were about to introduce another female character and a potential love interest with the woman that Rick found, but then that didn't pan out. I notice that after she died, he took his sandwich (or whatever that was) back, LOL... But, the woman from Woodbury and the big black guy (see what happens when one doesn't watch for half a year, forgetfulness to the point of interest loss) seems to have paired off. But, IMHO, the four stupid kids that named the walkers should all be eaten. Also, I thought for sure that Darryl would put a lip lock and do the old tongue snake on Beth Green (Emily Kinney) when he went to tell her that the guy she'd been hooking up with was now zombie shit and she held him for er... comfort. That would be an interesting scenario. And that young kid that turned in the shower room? As soon as he was walking away, I knew he was a red shirt, LOL... But again, their camp still isn't sectioned off. If one point is breached, the whole prison will fall.
^huh, well there was the wreckage of an aircraft on the roof... The collision might have compromised the structural integrity of the building (coupled with years of no maintenance) and provided walker fodder out of the crash victims. Georgia doesn't get heavy snow like the Northeast, maybe their building codes require less of supermarket roofs? Meh, either way, having walkers fall from the ceiling was kind of awesome IMHO.
I was lucky to have found a stream. Anyways, first ep was okay and that woman is crazy, she look like a walker lol. I wonder how that kid turned, he did mention that he needed to leave otherwise he would bite, so did the person (I forgot the name too) know that, that's why she let him go. Yeah the shop's ceiling was like cardboard lol, there was no thickness to it.
Spoiler: Agree about Georgia Building codes ...but they're not that far off as snow and hail does happen in Georgia (annual snowfall average 2.9 inches for Atlanta). Further, you noticed that where the helicopter fell (according to your premise that it had weakened the roof), the helicopter remained on the roof while walkers punctured through at a totally different location. That in and of itself, didn't make sense to me. One would expect that the impact site likely to be much more exposed to the elements and thus weakened. Yet, the wreckage didn't move and the roof was strong enough to hold it up. Thus, that scene (which I do agree was awesome), that while dramatic, IMHO failed in 'suspension of disbelief' as it destroyed the illusion. What they could have done instead was had the roof already punctured with large holes, and walkers move toward the sound (of the falling bottles) and then fall through those holes. Of course, that still doesn't explain how all those walkers could have gotten up on the roof in the first place. Also, according to the storyline in the comic, the events since day zero (onset of zombie outbreak) to their prison existence, was less than 18 months. It's funny because the younger cast members are growing too fast for the show's timeline. Carl, ie Chandler Riggs, who started the show at age 10 is now 14 and looks to be aging much older than the story would account for and by next season, he wouldn't even look like a kid anymore, LOL...
Ep 4_02 is Red Shirt City, LOL... Spoiler: who wudda thunk it That a prison fence can fall over if enough guys leaned on it? As for this pandemic (ie. spanish flu or some sort of hemorrhagic fever) within a pandemic (ie. the whole undead phenomenon), I think its a great vehicle to just kill a whole bunch of folks without them even having to get bit. Poor Tyrese, looking for love in all the wrong places. That last scene of him showing up with flowers in his hands and then following the trail of blood was so predictable yet agonizing to watch for his character. I'm sure he's going to be pissed at someone in ep 03. Frankly, if they have a highly communicable disease, they should all be wearing face masks and everything should be boiled. As for the nut job girl who think of walkers as pets, I get the feeling that she's going to be a real problem because she's unable to separate the wheat from the chaff. IMHO, she's going to wind up risking the entire group because of her delusional way of thinking. So, what's up with samurai girl and babies? Obviously, she has issues with them but because of what?
Ep 4_03 turns up the heat... Spoiler: As more and more ...of the Woodbury "survivors" are being culled, used for red shirt fodder in order to get the cast back down to about ten main characters. Otherwise there's too many people to keep track of and the show loses focus. Carol is turning into an emotionless machine, where life and death decisions can be made without psychological baggage, but she can still feel 'guilty' about things. That's why she took the risk to go clear the water line despite the pack of walkers who almost got her. In the comic version, the original Carol finally gave up and purposely strode directly into a walker so that he could bite her and end it all. I wonder if this Carol would do the same? Herschel's becoming a real important character, who is not only courageous, but is in many ways, calmly emulating what Dale used to be. Beth (who is so hot by the way), is finally showing signs that she is cracking under the strain despite her mantra of "everyone has jobs to do." Since they weren't able to get through that herd to the vet college, I'm still nonetheless peeved that they did the whole 'distracted' driver thing. This is the second time that TWD did this (first was with Rick's wife in season 2). One would figure that driving would require better or special attention from all the stuff left on the roads to begin with. But no, they all have to play with the radio dial and all four people in the car are focused exclusively on that radio (which you have to listen to or hear) with their eyes? No that doesn't make any sense at all. Another thing is, I notice that they don't use Molotov Cocktails at all in this series. Given a herd of walkers, a jellied gasoline grenade (made simply by mixing gasoline with soap powder) would do wonders as it sticks and flesh and burns. Zombies wouldn't know how to 'stop, drop, and roll' as they're unthinking and unfeeling. So once the muscles have been burned to shit, they won't be able to walk anymore. Heck they not supposed to be able to walk any more, anyway. But then there would be no show, LOL... And Onna-BugeishaMichonne is simply awesome with that Katana. I'm wondering though, how she is able to keep that blade so effing sharp? Tyrese is getting on my nerves; we get it, he had an emotional loss. But the world is falling about around him and it's all about him and his anger? Leave him, he's become dead weight.
^ I thought T was gonna suicide by staying in the car lol, but damn, surprised he didn't get scratched or bit when he was surrounded by the horde of walkers. He is a beast! Yeah that radio thing is stupid, how could you, a driver, get your attention driven away. Not like there's any hope of an instant solution. Anyways, seems like that path they were taking were blocked by countless of walkers. Reminds me of the season finale (break?) when Shane got double killed and the horde of walkers started to show up from no where (the bit where the screen panned out)
One of the things that I found to be so successful about this show was the "small band of brothers against the world" aspect from the beginning of the series. By and large, that's still more or less true and television audiences concur; they just announced renewal for a fifth season when the season 4 premiere blew all opening records out of the water. So this program is at an all time high. But will these ratings and adoration last forever? I doubt it. The comic series too, was one of the best when it first started. But then something happened; it got mundane. Instead of constantly fighting undead walkers, it's making the mistake of becoming human again. That is, it is now "my" village against "your" village. They're returning to tribal warfare and national politics; us against the Russians, or Commies, or whatever. Zombies have been effectively tuned out into the background. The comic almost holds no more interest for me anymore. Once people realize that this is where the show is going, then they'll stop watching too. Or watch less as they can get that same sort of story action (my country versus your country) on every other televised show series. They won't need to come back to Walking Dead to get that. Thus, I hope AMC realizes how fragile this wonderful winning formula that they have is, that they need to keep it simple; us versus the zombies, that's what viewers want. If they make it another Peyton Place, then it would become as memorable as that bygone series (which I bet no one here has ever even heard of, LOL...) For anyone interested, the Comic series is currently at issue # 115 and the entire series can be easily found on a variety of torrents.
Ep 4_04... I can't believe it... Spoiler: Carol ...doesn't die, but is thrown off the show by Rick? OMG. Midway through the show I saw her character becoming stronger and I thought that Rick and her was going to get hooked up. But instead of more leadership in the group she's thrown out; damn. Also, feel bad about that young couple, the tattoo on the severed leg was a poignant touch, but they should have tried to recover the weapon they gave her. Tyrese is really beginning to get on my nerves.
I know right, he gave two guns out. Me think the Guy is a goner too, considering he took so long to get back and he got injured. How did her leg come off so clean and it is sitting there nicely near the gate? Carol. Hmm I wonder what will happen to her. Who is that army looking guy (dressed in a military like uniform), he always causing a scene with his drink.
Ep 4_05 was pretty dramatic; lots of make or break type zombie fights that keeps the show exciting. There had been too much in terms of talking and relationships which, IMHO was dragging the show on the road to irrelevance. I'm glad they got back to their "roots" so to speak. But one thing I don't understand... Spoiler: That Weak Fence Line That weak fence line which then collapses under the weight of walkers; why didn't they just park cars in front of that fence section? The cars don't need to be directly touching the fence, but could have been parked about a foot or two from the fence, providing a buffer so that the walkers couldn't bring their collective weight to bear on it. Also, given the fact that they have working vehicles, they could have just as easily 'Pied Piper' the whole crowd of walkers away from the prison by going short distances and then blowing their horn, inducing the walkers to follow them. They could have quickly led them all out of the area instead of allowing them to congregate and mass at the fence line. Additionally, I have an issue with how Glen was able to so easily put a knife into the rising corpse's forehead; the frontal (forehead) bone is among the two thickest bones of the skull (the other being the occipital). He should not have so easily been able to penetrate a blade into it; he should have gone directly into and through the eye. Alternatively the temporal bone would have also been easier. The tracheal intubation scene is a real stretch of the imagination; most conscious people (especially those starved for oxygen) would be flailing about wildly if an ET tube is placed in their trachea. Immediately after the intubation it mimics the sensation of something stuck in your throat. Combined with O2 deprivation, they would do anything to rip that tube back out. Thus, instead of calming down, the guy they intubated should be freaking out. The mechanics of artificial mechanical ventilation isn't just putting a tube as that only protects the airway; it's the balanced mix of oxygen, pressure curves, volume and rate that determines success when people get sick to the point where their lungs no longer work well enough to sustain their life. In this case, putting in that tube (while dramatic for television) would actually be clinically useless; ie. hurt more than help. Also, when Glen was intubated; the saliva, mucus and other fluid secretions from the walker would have already contaminated the Endotracheal Tube in the first place, thereby making it as lethal as a bite. I know Herschel made a big show of cleaning off the outside of the tube with alcohol; but anyone who's ever worked with ET Tubes know that the secretions and contaminants are actually on the inner surfaces of the tube and not just the outer surface. In effect, the walker's secretions were being directly blown and implanted into Glen's lungs. Also, the stupid girl who originally considered the walkers as pets; she should have gotten it. Which goes to show that even in Hollywood, you can't kill stupid, LOL... I wonder what Daryl is going to do now that Carol is out? But, next week should be a real nail biter as (drum roll please...) the governor is back, mwa ha ha... Oh, and just an observation of how quick this stuff is turned around by video pirates; I just finished watching the episode on TV at 2200 hrs, and that ep was already found, commercial free, as trusted source available for direct download as of 2205, LOL...
Spoiler: yeah basically Man that was some intense episode, I know what you mean Ralph, just by watching the tube enter the throat made me cringe a bit, it looked and should cause huge discomfort, even at the stage he is in. Never actually thought about the "struggling to free" the tube but it make sense. Yeah about the Tube I think he has no choice since that was the only option and glen is infected anyway so it's better to try before he turns.
