opinions? i thought it was an OK ending. i expected kenneth and tavia to end up together, but sadly they didn't. i guess it's acceptable, because usually we get too many happy endings from TVB which are so damn predictable (for example they both end up in present day HK and end up having kids and stuff, everyone happy lalala)
i personally liked the ending. Its fresh, kinda had that Japanese Samurai feeling to it where the main characters goes off to do this and that, and then crawls back to his lover just to die. Personally I kinda wished that the ending was a bit longer where Kenneth lived long enough to see Tavia. Either way, excellent character development in Kenneth and how he grew.
I'm content with the ending, it was sad but it goes well with how their relationship was, their timings were off.
Random but I thought Macy got blacklisted by TVB? Anyways, back on topic, it's a bit weird how Tavia came back without aging (after 30 years? Really? If time zone were different then ok...I let this pass). When she came to the present/future she came down like she was a goddess (Kenneth flew down without getting ready to position). Also, she wasn't like shouting out (Kenneth) his name, nor was she surprised at his clothes OR that he is lying on the ground. Weird. The "TVB Spoiler" wasn't even true lol. They said Kenneth would successfully go back but Tavia was married to someone, then because of his age he dies of heart attack. Another random. I think the CGi on the 'blue clouds' were quite decent, if they could do that then why did the Pandas (in the earlier eps) look so choppy o_0
actually, this is quite possible, assuming that time traveling is possible. we are watching kenneth's timeline as the viewer. when tavia arrives, kenneth's time has indeed passed like 30 years, but that doesn't have to be for tavia. tavia could've found a new portal like "immediately" after kenneth left her time, but when she arrives, she arrives at the year of 2012 + 30 instead of the 2012 you would expect her to arrive in. time traveling isn't linear from what i know. also, women never age in TVB series, so POSSIBLY tavia did wait 30 years to go to kenneth's time, but it simply didn't show on her xD
I get what you are saying.. Lol, funny how they didn't show Cilla properly (just on the TV as a reporter on that new found species or something). I think it's because she has the youthful look and aging her would look odd (they decided to put the glasses on to make her seem more 'mature') Also, after 30 years, Kenneth pc monitor was still using the same Operating system. I'm sure they would have went to like Windows 18 by then haha (I know it's a strange comment that I just made)
i think the ending was very good, however i would of prefer to know what happened to raymond lam and lui bei and tavia reaction when keneth went back to his world i think ending was good but they didnt need to show tavia going to keneth world. best is keneth crawling towards it and dies.
They could've done so much better with the story...Guess they were tight on budget. Sure there are a lot of happy endings out there, but why would you make a guy wait 30 years and then make him die in front of the portal without seeing Tavia's face? He died before seeing her... and had to die with his eyes wide open. The genre of this series is comedy and you put a tragic ending to it? Don't make sense TVB...
The ending for me was just as lame as the entire serial. There really wasn't any moment that I thought was genuinely funny or even artistically creative; nor is the story fresh given previous time character displacement tales even from within TVB's own library (Step Into The Past, King Of Yesterday & Tomorrow, etc). And the finale of: Spoiler: dying scene with ...Tavia arriving in the future and walking calmly over to our fallen hero, seemingly like she's already time traveled on so many previous occasion that it no longer even impresses her, is a bit of a stretch. I wonder if she gets frequent flyer miles? LOL... IMHO, my personal rating o 2/5 for the whole show.
I wouldn't say it was one of the best dramas this year.. but I did enjoy watching this series. I was glad that Kenneth was able to change himself after his return to Three Kingdoms (of course as expected.. he's changed to a much better person). Thing is.. i feel bad for the modern day cast. Especially Ha Yu who only got like maybe even less than 20 minute screentime in this drama. Much like a KLF :( I wouldn't mind a sequel (with low expectation of course!).. but it's almost impossible to make one.
