Somehow, I'm not that impressed. I think the idea of time warp to and from dynastic periods is a good idea, but one has to have better production values. Even the old Step Into The Past (Louis Koo) was done with a lot more believability. Spoiler: I did not like ...this beginning with Kenneth Ma being a ne'er do well RPG'er addict. I suppose he'll 'learn' from his mistakes and stop being an immature teenager who never quite grew up; time will tell. But the idea that he (or rather his archaic character persona) will eventually become a respected general and political force in ancient China is a real stretch. Louis Koo had the panache to pull something like that off (and get two girls to boot, LOL); Kenneth Ma? IMHO, not by a long shot.

Once he goes back to the real world, he'd be taking care of the family and what not. Now i'm just wondering if it'll keep switching between the periods. I mean Ha Yu has a father role & i hope they just dont limit his screentime to 1st & last episode. On a side note.. this song was planned to be the theme.. which I really looked forward to hearing. Well.. didn't know there was that. That song was released in 2010 & is actually very normal for LF to sing the songs for his dramas. At least it was used so I'm happy 'bout it

For ancient series, even for this time jumping and stuff, the productions for it will cost a lot and TVB just doesn't seem to want to fork over the funds for it. Still, I like these type of series.
I just love how he (Kenneth Ma) Spoiler: Acts like he is a big man after just arriving, making brazen suggestions (during the village meeting), and even resting his arm over and atop the village chief's shoulder like he's a favorite relative. But you're OK with idea of time travel? LOL... Seriously, since he can only text, I wondered if he would take a picture and sent it to his sister, since carriers usually consider pictures as part of text plans? LOL...
The CGI (the panda and dinosaur) was horrible. Can you name a TVB series that has good CGI? (random question) It is a drama (but hey, you could always backfire by saying they could have infinite battery supply haha) so I am to a certain extent okay with it. Haven't seen a drama like this for awhile (A chip of the block [wrong name I think] and A step to the past). Yeah I am surprised he was able to do that, I would have expected them to say "no manners" or something. He could have made a video clip too haha, but according to him I believe he could only send and receive text messages (SMS) and not call (+ other things) because during his transition to this '3 kingdom' his sister (Cilla) sent him a message.
this is a comedy historical drama of Romance of three kingdom RPG.. So stop compare this is to Step into the Past. BTW Step into the past was 2002 production that was 10yrs ago. Ofc TVB had changed and they jsut add more comedy element into it. IF you want a real Romance of three kingdom then go watch 2010 China drama.
Pay Freddie Wong & his crew to do the CG. Actually, TVB prolly cant afford that. What can you expect though. I love how he keeps using modern slang and has to keep explaining to the people.
I honestly don't know how TVB can get away with crappy CGI like that. Come-friggin-on, it's 2012. The standard can't possibly still be the same compared to 10 years ago?! Also, I'm not sold on Kenneth Ma's acting (or over-acting I should say).
only seen first ep it's funny this role really fits Kenneth but if he can text from past to future thats dumb TVB CGI is always poor...they probably get kids to do it cause its cheap.
