Just recently coming back from their honeymoon vacation, newlyweds, Timmy Hung (洪天明) and Janet Chow’s (周家蔚) discovered their house was robbed! Timmy and Janet lost more than 50,000 dollars in jewelry and cash. The robbery did not look to be random and seemed to be carefully planned whilst the pair were not home.

It was reported that the home address of Timmy and Janet’s new home at Ma Yau Tong Village in Tseung Kwan O was well known because of their high profile wedding in March. The thief hit the “jackpot” and walked away with Janet’s bridal jewelry, gifts that she received from her wedding. Timmy lost a gold plaque that he had won in a variety game show a year ago. In addition, Janet also lost a designer handbag that Timmy had given to her as a first gift when they were dating.

Timmy believed that the robbery occurred on Sunday, April 29th. As soon as the couple returned home at 9 PM, they found their kitchen window pried open. Since they were away on their honeymoon, their dog was relocated; otherwise having their dog home could have stopped the robbery.

Although the couple was shocked to find their home robbed, Janet did not appear overly troubled. She wrote on her Weibo blog, “Thank you everyone for your concern! Honestly, it's not a big deal! My mother is always right! She warned me to never leave anything valuable at home. If I listened to her, it would be a blessing!”

Timmy felt relieved that they were not home at the time the robbery happened. He values Janet’s own safety over their possessions. If the theft was occured when he was still single, he would have physically dealt with the robber one-on-one. However, as a married man, Timmy has to put his wife and family first.

The newlyweds had insomnia after the theft. To make Janet feel more secure at home, Timmy promised to install a security system to avoid future break-ins.

Its probably an insider job. How will they know what to take...even Janet's hand bag. I am sure she has lots of handbags but why that one?

Anyway, it is a lesson learnt for them.... never leave valuables at home.

First was that ex and now home got robbed. The thieves knew they were gone for their honeymoon and rob the place. It's almost like asking for trouble. People know where they live and they are known to talk a lot so their schedules probably got leaked. Criminals are smart, they don't want any trouble. They planned it well. But it's not a big lost to them, but knowing that their home got broken in to can give anyone a scare.
