Ang Lee's new movie, "Lust, Caution" assembled artists from Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan.

Director Ang Lee accepted an interview with a mainland website and confirmed that "Lust, Caution" 《色.戒》will be featured in the Venice Film Festival. The movie stars Tony Leung Chiu Wai and will be shown in China in September.

Ang Lee has already spent 3 months editing "Lust, Caution" and the progress has been smooth. Ang Lee revealed that filming Cheung Ailing's novel was a difficult feat. The novel was extremely realistic and trying to grasp it was often difficult and a brutal task.

As to the deeper meaning behind "Lust, Caution," Ang Lee said that the "Lust" in the title refers to people's ambitions and emotions. Thus the first two-thirds of the film focuses on the lust, the innermost raw feelings possessed by people.

The latter part of the film will focus on the restraint that people must exercise ro prevent self-destruction.
Ang Lee admitted that the latter part of the film focuses less on emotions and more on logic. He used artistic merit to illustrate how to withdraw from the fatal consequences of lust.
