TVB Drama "A Great Way to Care 2" Showing on March 18

Despite being kept in the warehouse for two years, medical drama A Great Way to Care <仁心解碼> braved through the time-fodder time slot by strong word of mouth. Although the drama achieved only average ratings throughout its broadcast life in early 2011 of 29 points, the critical success of A Great Way to Care gave TVB a reason to produce a second series. The cast, with Alex Fong (方中信) leading the pack, were also thrilled to return.

The sequel, with Marco Law (羅永賢) returning to produce and Kwan Chung Ling (關頌玲) returning to pen the script, began production in the summer of 2012. Filming ended four months later.

Although A Great Way to Care 2 will start off at where the first series ended, the show went through several changes in its main cast. Kate Tsui (徐子珊), who portrayed detective Mandy in the first series, had to exit the cast due to scheduling conflicts. In the show, Mandy’s character will be killed in light of Kate’s departure. Raymond Wong (黃浩然), who portrayed the nurse Lee Ying Chun in the first series, also left the cast. His character is said to have moved to Malaysia to help out at his girlfriend’s family business.

Synopsis of “A Great Way to Care 2”

Senior psychiatrist Ko Lap Yan (Alex Fong) of Yan Wo Hospital, having successfully helped Senior Inspector Chung Kwok Bun (Ben Wong 黃智賢) solve several criminal cases with his professional analyses on criminal psychology, is invited to work in a new department, the Department of Forensics Psychiatry.

Yan suffers near depression after the death of his wife, Mandy (Kate Tsui). He finds his strength again with the support of his friends Sam (Ram Chiang 蔣志光) and Leung Kai Wing (Edwin Siu 蕭正楠), a new intern at Yan Wo Hospital. Yan also finds new romance with his work partner, psychiatrist Cheuk Wai Kiu (Yoyo Mung 蒙嘉慧). Together, the gang of four help out the Criminal Investigation Department led by Bun and his new subordinate, Lam Chung Yan (Tavia Yeung 楊怡).

Aimee Chan (陳茵媺), Oscar Leung (梁烈唯), Christine Kuo (苟芸慧), and Oceane Zhu (朱璇) are also new additions to the cast.
