TVB 41st Anniversary Award Presentation was held last night. Every award nominees were present. At approximately 6.00pm, TVB management arranged for the arrival of the artistes who were all seated in 8 vintage cars. Besides that, 400 fans were present at the site to support their idols. There were flashes of lights and banners as a way to lighten up the environment. The first to arrive were last year's TV King and TV Queen, Moses Chan and Louise Lee Si Kei followed by Michelle Yim and Wayne Lai. Amongst the artistes, Raymond Lam has the largest group of fans and supporters. When Raymond Lam arrived at the site, there was a big crowd of cheering fans with throngs of screamings. The whole place was bustling with noise and excitement. Raymond Lam was asked regarding him treating the TVB Executives for dinner. He mentioned that Ng Yu and Mani Fok, both are EEG directors were also present at the dinner, they were merely discussing about his plans and work for next year. Raymond was also asked that whether he felt disappointed that he has lost the TV King award to Ha Yu, Raymond replied: [I will continue to work hard, I have won two awards, I have done what I could for my fans] After the ceremony, Raymond Lam mentioned that he will celebrate with his sisters and brothers (he meant his fellow colleagues). I bet you that he was beyond disappointed with the award show. He thought he will go home with the award this year cuz he practically nailed all his series and his singing improved and music sales are up too .. well, little did he expect that the exec gave it to Ha Yu (TVB veteran) .. can't battle the veteran ... lol Frankly, I think Ray really deserve it cuz he's young and the award will reinvigorate him to work harder. I believe he really did his best this year but oh well, TVB awards suck anyway .. all rigged.. lol
idk, I don't think he was that disappointed because I had a feeling that Ha Yu was gonna win because he's an old geezer... and if I figure it out, he would have figure that out too ^^
yeah .. even so, ray goes in with huge fans and supports .. he did well in everything .. ha yu has been around but his fame and roles are limited .. sure he might had a chance .. if the award is designated for old geezer like you said, there's no point of nomination anymore ... again .. tvb award is rigged so no matter... lol
nah man raymond wasn't that good in hog II. also he sucked in tai chi (who didn't) lol dunno other shows but raymond should wait till his turn. but if he was compared to ha yu, i would say in the show their acting is pretty much on par with each other but for the award of course ha yu deserves it more.
i haven't seen tai chi so can't comment but personally, i believe the aware should go to kenneth ma or kevin cheng or even roger kwok. sorry, i don't find ha yu nor ray very impressive with their acting. in fact, i didn't think ha yu did that well in MR. some scenes, i thought he didn't too well. the same with michelle yim .. not very good either ... both of them so so.
dunno about kevin cheng but kenneth ma was terrible (he was alright in survivor's law II), roger kwok was playing roger kwok in D.I.E. lol, but i don't think comedies are usually nominated/ win awards (usually its the dramas). so yea not alot of people deserve it this year. i personally like susanna better at the beginning, but i have grown on michelle yim's character, she was good no question why she won. who else could've won there? liza wang (war of the inlaws, that wasn't good acting it was way over the top lol)? nancy sit (silver chamber, she was a dumbass)? they both suck this year. liza wang and charmaine sheh (she's charmaine sheh) shouldn't even be nominated same with sonya kwok (she was like the female roger kwok)...lee szi kei was definitely not better than michelle yim in hog II...so yea, no one else deserves it more.
Totally agree with you. Actually I don't understand why people enjoyed D.I.E. so much. It was plain silly to me. Kinda like the Stephen Chow comedies. Oh well, I expect it's an acquired taste. I agree with your take on Nancy Sit and Liza Wang's acting. They definitely did not impress at all. I don't see why Liza should sulk about it when plainly the spotlight was on the MR cast this year. Now they're even filming a WOIL3. Oh, god help me(or them)! Now, if Roger Kwok were nominated for Last One Standing, I would've found it hard to choose between him and Kevin Cheng, cos they were both spectacular at their roles. But then again, with the audience all caught up with the MR hype, it's easy to overlook the acting and go with the dead fish flow.
