Saturday May 17, 2008 Hong Kong TVB artistes took to the streets yesterday, led by General Manager Stephen Chan (陳志雲), to collect donations from the public in areas across the region, starting in Central, Wanchai and Causeway Bay. The fundraising entourage will then be moving onto Tsimshatsui, Mongkok and the New Territories today. There was quite a commotion as the public crowded round to meet the celebrities. Among the 20 or so artistes taking part in the collection were Ng Wai Kwok (伍衛國), Helen Ma (馬海倫), Irene Wang (汪琳), Lo Meng (羅莽), Claire Yiu (姚嘉妮), Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Ben Wong (黃智賢) and Johnny Tang (鄧兆尊). They were also joined by Miss Hong Kong representatives Kayi Cheung (張嘉兒), Lorretta Chow (周美欣), Lily Ho (何傲兒) and 11 of this year's finalists. Stephen revealed that this is part of a string of fundraising events that TVB will be holding and he also indicated that Stephen Chow (周星馳) and Coco Li (李玟) may also be making an appearance in tonight's fundraising telethon show. Ng Wai Kwok and Wayne lived up to their reputations as a housewife killers, attracting many married women to make donations. Claire and Irene were more popular with the younger generation and Irene revealed that she had delayed her honeymoon plans so that she could take part in the event and contribute to the fundraising effort. credits: batgwa.
