I know alot of highschool students fall for their teachers, tutors, and people are older then them because they're mature, kind, beautiful and smart. I personally don't care what the age differences b/c if you love eachother then is ok but don't try to chase after them if they don't love you!

I think it has to do with the mother/ father figure a bit in the sense that they can find security in someone older.
