Recently Ive bought the Samsung m8800, it works very well, 8MP camera, touchscreen. Not bad. It has internet access for 3G but no wifi however the fact its from HK, only allows 3G networks on 1800 signals and the US uses 1700 i believe. Does anyone know how to unlock or override the current OS or whatever so that i could go online. depending on what carrier u have the 3g bad is sumwhat different. for at&t its 850 and 1900. i think t mobile is 1900 only i thing. unlocking the phone means u can use any carrier with a sim card. doesn't mean u can unlock the band for 3g. i believe it has to do with the hardware inside the phone to let it know what band to pick up for 3g. i think ur stuck with just the regular 2g internet speeds on ur phone. same thing with my phone cause i have the SE w960i
i think u mite have to bring it to one of those cell phone unlocking places and c if they can do it. try craigslist for a list of stores. i never heard of this before n if u can do it let me no cause i'll then settle for a SE xperia x1i instead of waiting for the price of the x1a to drop
well technically and theoretically its possible. Its just a small hardware programmed in whatever language. if you know the language i think is possible to override it
