NIRVANIA'S UXTHEME PATCHING TUTORIAL To use visual styles and themes without having to use any other third party software such as style xp, follow the directions below.. NOTE: Please note that i do not take any responsibility for any damaged system files. use at your own risk. -DIRECTIONS- (follow them carefully) 1. Download the file below and extract the uxtheme patcher folder to desktop **http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VRK1V2AF** 2. Go into the folder and open the file labeled Replacer (Windows NT Command Script) 3. Find the original uxtheme.dll file located C:\WINDOWS\system32 4. Drag the original uxtheme.dll file you just located into the replacer window you opened up in step two and push enter 5. Drag the modified version of the uxtheme.dll file you downloaded into the replacer window and press enter 6. You will be asked if you want to continue, type in Y and press enter 7. Press any key to exit replacer 8. Reboot Computer to see changes -IMPORTANT NOTES- - This only works with Windows theme files and not Window blind files - Place all downloaded themes in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes - apply themes by right clicking your desktop and going to properties ENJOY! -rockon
ive tried to apply this http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/35670904/ theme. i extrated the files to a folder i created in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes, but i can never see it in appearance and themes/display properties/appearance. i always haveta go directly to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes, and it changes to the old windows theme after i shutdown. could u help?
naw, there hasnt been any reports of any damaged files..the most you could do is probabaly unable to use any visual styles except the classic one
lol, im using the vista transformation thingy. ppl said it made their computer crash, but mine didnt have a single problem..guess ppl just didnt follow the instructions carefully.
i think so, if you get a theme with transparencies..but, remember, no .WBA files aka windowblind files
