I'm trying to remux some anime to watch on my HTPC. I'm just muxing the subs from the fansubs with the blu-ray. The video files are the same length, and so I shouldn't need to resync the subs. However, when I remux them together, the file is bigger than the original blu-ray and the timing is off as hell. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
if your only changing the subs, technically there shouldn't be any noticeable change in size. I'm not sure why it's getting bigger as the contents (.video and .audio) hasn't changed from the looks of what you said. Maybe take another look at what your doing With the subs being out of sync; i'm assuming your taking a sub from a different release video and muxing it in the BD file, the reason it may be out of sync is cuz (even though length is same) the framerate (fps) it's encoded in is different between the two releases. So you need to check and if so fix and re-time.
I'll look into resyncing them. But they aren't a few seconds behind or anything. It's like they started using the subs halfways through. I'm curious, why does the diff in fps cause them to be out of sync?
