In March, Vincent Zhao (赵文卓) criticized Donnie Yen (甄子丹) openly for his bossy manners on the set of Special Identity <特殊身份>. Right after getting pushed out of the movie project, Vincent couldn't help but feel offended and criticized the film’s production crew for their unethical behavior. Though both sides thought about the option to sue, Vincent’s frustration seemed to have toned down, putting his argument with Donnie Yen behind him. Vincent did not regret displaying his difference with Donnie Yen openly. He stated, “I did what I was meant to and was thankful for all the support given.” After venting and conveying his injustice openly, Vincent did not dwell on further negative feelings. Last week, at the 19th Annual Student Film Festival awards ceremony, Vincent said, “This experience is in the past. My current state of mind is quite good.” Vincent also revealed that he will be taking part in a number of Chinese-American collaborations in the foreseeable future. However, will the fan discussions concerning Donnie and Vincent’s dispute ready to end yet? The martial arts stars’ rivalry sparked a heated debate in social networks, especially on Weibo, causing segregations amongst Vincent Zhao versus Donnie Yen’s fan camps. In addition, existing plans were underway to produce an Ip Man <叶问> the TV drama in mainland China. Director Fan Xiaotian (范小天) revealed that he had the desire to invite Vincent Zhao to star in the dram. The final casting for the main character hasn't been decided yet. The drama is scheduled to start filming in June 2012, with a broadcast date around 2013.
