The public may still be in disbelief that Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) received more fan votes than Raymond Lam (林峰) to win this year’s TV King title. Tabloids speculated that Wayne resorted to underhand feng shui tactics to suppress Raymond, who was initially regarded to have a sure win at the 45th TVB Anniversary Awards. To celebrate his third Best Actor victory, Wayne Lai organized an 11-table banquet to treat The Confidant <大太監> cast and crew. In attendance were producer Lee Tim Shing (李添勝), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Power Chan (陳國邦) and Oscar Leung (梁烈唯). Asked whether he had used a feng shui array to suppress his greatest rival, Raymond Lam, Wayne expressed his disbelief at the exaggerated claims. “The best joke is that they said I suppressed the mountain peaks [to fight against Raymond Lam]! If Kenneth Ma (馬國明) rises, then I will have to suppress Ma On Shan! Moses Chan (陳豪) would be an even bigger deal, as Lau Fau Shan has many peaks!
