Rooney is over rated! Tevez is much better, simply cause he's a grafter!

Rooney made the bad decision of leaving Everton, simply got too big for his shoes and never worked his magic on the field, but rather concentrated with his off the pitch credits! End of the day the kid is a good footballer, but not world class!

He was never going to be world class once he left Everton because when you go to a club like Man U you dont learn to control your temper...you just end up thinking you can get away with anything! He's just not been managed correctly!

Rooney has the potential, he's still young... but as of right now... he's highly overrated... I don't think Tevez is "better"... it's just Rooney needs to play off a target man, and Tevez doesn't need one... even though they both play the same aggressive striker roles...

Rooney has been putting a bit of weight so he aint going to be as good as what he used to be.

I think Rooney was at his best in euro 2004 but after that he hasn't been much better, he's inconsistant with his scoring and workrate. I don't really like Rooney's playing style and I don't rate him as a player lol

the Rooney now aint the same as the old Rooney. didnt Alex Ferguson say he played Rooney out of position a lot last season hence the reason he hasnt topped the previous campaign scoring ratio for the first time in his career?

hes been playered too many position! left right centrral.. should really just get the central striking role!.. with ronaldo back n tevez n berbatov challenging for a place in the first team.. he need to show his worth! undoubtedly he 's got the workrate , skills n willingness to run around like a lunatic.. but at the end of the day MAN U NEED GOALS !! not him running around on the wings ... thats wat ronaldo nani giggs etc etc are here for!!

Rooney can't play on his own up front... that's what got England in shite in the first place... they have no target man aside from Crouch... and since everyone seems to not want to play Crouch, there u have it... it's the same deal with ManU... Saha was always injured, and now they have Berbatov, they need to play him up front so Rooney can poach goals...

Have you guys been following Man U's match? I haven't seen anyone so selfless and hardworking in football than Rooney. First of all, he's a forward, not a striker. Yes, he didn't score as much last season but he assisted a lot. Tevez and Rooney are essentially the same type of player, they tend to bomb around the field helping out where he might. I'm surprise at what goo wak jai said that he doesn't rate Rooney as a player, that just shows how much he knows about football.

he has the potential, needs to be more greedy and strike at goal a bit more and get the goals and stop passing the ball instead of going for goal. Really irritates me and he needs to do what what he did when he burst on the seen and do more driving runs with the ball.

maybe he just went past the peak/golden periode like every other players even though he still is at the start of the 20's.

I'm a Man U fan based in London, and I think Rooney is pretty overrated for his price tag. He should be groomed as a replacement for Scholes as he excels behind the 2 front men. Though his temperament is terrible. Also, no composure most of the time, just wants to kick the ball into the keepers face when he's in front of goal...Berbatov...he, is class...

How can anyone say Rooney isn't hardworking? He's all over the pitch, I agree with hiddendragon that he's not greedy enough but when he strikes the ball I always think it's going to be a goal, he's been injured a lot as well which hasn't helped. Give him some time to shake it off and he'll be back to his world class status

i dont think Rooney is overrated and if he is cos he doesnt score enough goals, then thats wrong. Strikers do score goals but they have other responsibilities for the team. Rooney works his ass off to help the team. his workrate is incredible, same as Tevez. he helps out the defense too.
