Windows XP. I have no idea what is causing this, has anyone ever seen web browsers display like this before? It has nothing to do with theme or graphics card
i'm not good with computers but i've have the same problem as u....but it was done purposely...i forgot what i did, but i tuned my comp into a performance-wise-comp so my PC games such as BF3 can run smoother in terms of fps....but in the same time, i sacrifice the overall comp graphics such as webbrowsing, my windows (basic theme), etc etc..... if i remember what i did, ill reply again... edit: ah, i remember, try this, but do the opposite... Method 5: Adjust for best performance Click Start, right-click Computer, click Properties, and then click Advanced system settings. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Performance. On the Visual Effects tab, click Adjust for best performance, and then click OK. Click OK to close the System Properties dialog box. Test your game. Collapse this imageExpand this image
Hi thanks for that, but thats not it. If you do what you showed above, youll find that google doesnt look like the one i showed above or yahoo. Its like the formatting and everything is wrong, look at the google one, it doesnt have the black bar across the top (where it says image, maps etc) that you would normally have. But I still get that if i disable everything like you showed. I even tried a different browser, same thing. So its the computer settings. If you can figure out how to change a setting that makes your webpage look like the ones i posted, then that would be the way to fix it too. I think this will be a tough one >_<
Lol Internet Explorer. Unless it's forced by a workplace, I wonder why people even dare to touch the IE icon to open it.
i went one better, i used a pc that does not even flash or java installed, webpage shows fine (unless you want to see flash vids but that is not the problem). Im trying to recreate the problem, then ill know how to fix it on the problem PC.
figured it out. High Contrast Mode. Left-Shift+Left-ALT+Print Screen. So at work the PC was put on HCM, and when it was no longer needed, rather than pressing the shortcut again to revert, they just changed the colour scheme in the settings. as a result, the browser was left in HCM mode. Case closed, thanks for the help turbo and jelly, made it easier to narrow it down, . -smart
is a widely supported browser in a corp environment, mist websites are IE compliant many business apps are written for IE as other browsers are not supported
