When you are looking for friends/boyfriends/girlfriends, what ethnicity do you normally prefer? Also how do you feel about dating FOBs? I normally prefer asian just because it's easier to bond. And I don't always have to explain my customs and cultures to them because they can relate. With americans and all those other races, it's a lot harder to bond. Like, I can't really talk to my white friends about TVB or any of that stuff, but I can with my asian friends so it's funner hanging out with them. But even though I PREFER asian friends, I also have a lot of non-asian friends. I'm not racist or anything .
Yes I totally agree with you I go to an all-white school, probably one of the most red-neck schools ever (there's like only 15 colored people out of 1000), and although I do have white friends and can get along with the majority of white people, they just seem different to me - and I feel different when I'm with them. I feel like an alien, they have different values in life and see life differently. However, when I'm with my asian buddies, I feel like it is where I belong, and I fit in more. It's easier to relate to. And about FOBs, I love FOBs!
hmm sounds like my first high school... until I transfered to another high school where there were 1 or 2 white people out of 1000 colas -lol... I mus say I don't look for any specific ethnicity... like the late great Big Pun once said... I prefer Asian chicks even though my last gf was a Latina. Theres nothing like that Latin flava and being called Papi lol. It doesnt really matter to me tho cuz I would date girls of all ethnicities, but you cant deny that there are some fineass Latinas and white chicks out there. I do see myself settling down with a Asian chick. As for Fobs, I felt that I had enough in common with Chinese Fobs because I have a good knowledge on the Chinese pop culture and my chinese is adequate. My perception of Fob girls all changed when I went out with this Chinese chick. I was looking for a good girl and was tired of dating wild girls. Well I found out that this chick's ex was a crack dealer and pimp, plus she was sprung off of this dude that is locked up in jail. This fob girl wanted a Triad Dai lo and that aint me.
I have friends of all ethnicities. It's always good to have friends of different ethnicities because it opens you up to broader horizons. But one thing I've noticed is that even though I'm chinese/vietnamese, I have a very difficult time getting along with Asian girls... (especially the VIET ones!) They're just too catty for me. Maybe that's why I don't have very many female friends... because more than half my city's population is Asian. Anyway, for relationships, I've only had serious relationships with Chinese/Vietnamese guys... I mostly prefer Chinese guys though. & I can't date fobs. We have very different mentalities. I once dated this non-fob, but he totally acted like a fob. It was really weird. He insisted that we spoke in Chinese everywhere we went... even when we were with non-chinese speaking people. I couldn't handle that... & then when it came time to speak English, he'd just stare at me blankly like he'd never spoken a word of English before. Sheesh, I wanted a boyfriend, not a freaking translating job. <_<

Why is it that you mostly prefer Chinese guys? I have a friend who's Vietnamese and she ONLY goes for Chinese guys. I've always questioned her about it, but she never gave me a reason as to why she preferred them. See???!!! So it's not just us GIRLS who like the "bad boys"... guys like the "bad girls" too! So to all those guys who came on this forum complaining/asking about how nice guys always finish last ect ect, well, it's a 2 way street!!

Well, for one thing, their mannerisms are very different. I've just had better experiences with Chinese guys than Vietnamese guys. They're more masculine.
