This is kind of in response to the 'NY Subway Heroes' thread. When I was watching the video I somehow thought of this song 'Hero' by Superchick. Since (according to the song) heroes are people who do the right things are heroes more prevalent than we think? So hero material isn't really anything special but just made up of some sort of inner drive (perhaps our conscience) that happens to kick in at the right moment so that in some cases (like those NY subway heroes) these "heroes" get national attention? But what about those smaller everyday heroes like those who stand up against bullies? .. or is that not considered heroic since, frankly, no one's life is getting saved. Maybe saved from getting beaten but not really from any life-threatening situation. whoa. These deep thoughts must be a sign that it's almost back-to-school time for me. blah.
