    Hey guys,

First off, I know you can find places in Chinatown, but I've already gone twice and perhaps I don't know where to look, but I have found nothing but bootlegged stores that sell Chinese (not Hong Kong) Drama.

I was wondering if anyone knows where to RENT TVB series from. If you can provide me the approximate street intersection, that would be so great. With the name of the store, even better >_<b

Sorry to pester everyone, but thank you for reading!

In many video stores, they have the orginal DVDs or tapes and make mass copy of it, so don't expect them to give you the orginal one to rent. Quality wise, it's still pretty much the same if it's copy from a real TVB disc. There used to be a lot fo rental stores in Chinatown but most of them had closed.

My grandma rents it in brooklyn, I think it was $100 for 200 eps for DVDs and $100 for 300eps for tapes. If you want to know, like me know.

Thank you so much for the reply, eviltofu. Yeah, a lot of them did close down. My friend directed me to one where she rented a long time ago, but it was replaced by a bridal shop LOL.

Of course, finding somewhere to rent series in Manhattan would be the best case scenario, but Brooklyn is still a viable option.

I would still like to hear from others to see if I can get some Manhattan spots, so eviltofu, I hope you won't refuse me later if I ask XD

Haha, not at all, just PM me if you want to know, since this location is like 2-3 blocks from the subway station and 30mins or so train ride from Chinatown.

Most of the rental places have closed, or have replaced their business with the selling of mass produced pirate copies instead. So, instead of renting, just buy it. I know that the Hong Kong Supermarket (on Main Street (2 blocks) from the Main Street #7 subway stop, walking towards Northern Blvd) mini-mall (downstairs from the supermarket) has several video stores, and inside the Flushing mall (around Prince street) there used to also be several. Since I DL all my TVB needs however, I rarely even go into those places any more. But, good luck in your search.

Wow, that's actually not as far as I imagined it to be.

Lol, I buy from these people who mass produce bootlegged copies occassionally when I can't find the series for sale or online, but they stuff like 8-10 episodes on 1 disc so even current series look like they were made in the 90's lol.

By the way, thanks for the info on Flushing Mall and the video shop next to Hong Kong Supermarket :)

Anyone else still know a secret place they rent their series from? >_<
