so the question arises, who is better at saving money? men or women? so i was driving and heard this on the radio and i decided to share it on the post. my answer was actually women. believe it or not women is definitely the number one answer. nowadays women tends to put more down payment on a house than men. thats because we men for some reason either spend spend spend or don't really know how to manage our finances as good as women. don't you notice that many women out there are much more independent who has almost everything of what men use to own. its great to see that women are very successful nowadays but my question is that since women don't rely on men as much then what are we good for now? lol Personally, back then I use to be a horrible saver. Whatever i made went straight to gagets and other unecessary stuff. wasn't bright at all because i invested on an item that depreciates in value. and with all the money spent on video games could of been on a house. well, gotta learn the hard way. -sweat all comments are welcomed.
My answer is that women are better at saving. Why? Back then, when women were dependent on men for allowance, they'd have to watch their finances and be very prudent on how they spent the money. So, they'd always be home clipping coupons, looking for the next sale, etc. They always had to watch their backs in the event that their husbands would leave them, leaving them with no skills and no allowance. And I think that mentality kind of trickled down to the younger generations. So I don't save a lot, but I definitely saved up more than my male counterparts. My guy friends are all broke because they spend all their money on useless gadgets that they use once or twice in their lifetimes, or they spend all their money on car parts. I spend a lot of money on designer bags and shoes, but I know how to limit myself. There is a bottom line to how much I'd spend, and that bottom line is not when my bank account is $0, whereas for some guys, the bottom line is when their bank accounts have $0 balance.
Neither... cuz the guys give all their money to the girls... and the girls give all their money to the shopping malls...
I think it depends on the individual. I have a friend (Male) who is really thrifty, (Or should i say stingy?) and he hardly spends his money. He can go to the extend of cooking his meals daily (not going out and eat) , and not spending money on things like clothes and etc. While my another friend, a female spends money like water. Me myself, don't really spends much either. =] I think is self-control, really. Instead of the gender that determines how much they spend lol.
Hm.. hard question... well i would say neither cause some men just gamble loads and some woman just buy all the latest fashion...
Wow... that would really depends on individual. But I think men are more reliable to money-saving in my opinion. Dont know why I thought of that...
yep and the reason why women can save up so much money with all the shopping they do is cause it ain't their money. They get the bf or the daddys to give them the money for the shopping. That is why guys can't have enough money to save up.
saving money has more to do with ones discipline than ones gender. if youre smart with money, then ur smart with money, REGARDLESS of sex.
haha.. i agree with this one. i mean neither are good at saving.. i definitely think it's heavily dependant on the indiviual.. but its harder for guys to save if they have to buy crap for their gal..or end up just handing it all over .. then the gals spend it all..
it all depends on the person~ I think married people are more adpt to save money, and married with kids will save even more~ as for the age ol' question of Man or Woman, Man always does a better job at *everything*. Right! of course we are always Right!
I'm a guy, and i guess i'm a pretty good saver. I mostly spend my money on food. Mmmmm *drools* unless my headphones are broken, then I get new ones. I don't even have a cell phone! HA! No monthly bills for me. I just use the pay phone. But I guess i really don't need to spend for anything. I'm only 17, so my parents still put a roof over my head, so its all good. Sadly though, I've been stalling on my resume... no job... ha...
i think it depends on the person. i used to spend a lot but now i try to cut down and save money for something else important like helping others...
