i'm in Oregan rite now for work BTW..... n e ways, after work me and my co-workers thought about going to the shooting range. we look one up and get directions and go. they all wanted me to lead so i do and we get lost at one point. driving around i see this cop chillin on the side of the rode. so after passing i do a u turn and pull up next to him. he looks at me and i look back at him and exit my car and walk up to his window. owww man i was shocked once i walk up to his window. i see that he his GUN holding it ready to fire. WTF???????? they i wait for him to roll his window down and ask him for directions. then he puts his gun away. i guess population in oregan is mainly white ppl, he might think a chinese guy is a bad guy out here.
can you blame him...its a dangerous job being a cop....i can see why he reacted that way..and again..it could also be based on the location...paranoia by the cop..racism...many reasons...but overall...i can see where hes coming from...
yea i've heard bad things around here but, i mean cops usually base it on looks rite??? i wasn't dressed ghetto or like a gangster
if i was a cop i would do the same thing cause rarely people walk up to you when you're patrolling especially strangers, it would be the other way around.
as long as you are cleancut no worries. If i was a cop and some asian dude came up to my vehicle in baggy pants and an oversized huggy i would definitely have my hand on my gun
just got a hair cut last week. shaved. wearing a striped polo shirt. jeans that are not baggy and some vans
dunno bout that but i think for a cop paranoia is the key to survival cause you never know what's gonna happen.
the cop's scared that you would rob him....and if anyone has a choice they won't choose to pull up next to a cop...lol...
funny thing was that i told him i was going to the shooting range and he looked hella shocked. then when i was on my way back to the car, one guy in my car told me that the cop shook his head and he took off
truth is, if you're not "white" you will be profiled la.. there's a huge amount of studies done to observe race relations in the us.. but for cops, they are suppose to protect the public.. not make them feel scare of uncomfortable if they need help.. i think many ppl forget that cops are the ones who serve the citizens, not the other way around
the cop was terrified lol-sweat doesn't want trouble, lucky he didn't shoot you when you said "shoot.........." lol, coulda made up an excuse to shoot you or something. asking a cop where's the shooting range lol.......
Maybe he had experienced some sort of bad things so pulling out the gun made him more comfortable and secured.
but if someone is not dress like typical "gangster" and not around any suspicions, why make the general public feel unsafe?? remember the cop logo on their cars, "to protect and SERVE"?? what happened to that??
their main objective is to protect civilians first.. that's the job it doesn't make sense to go into law enforcement, which by definition means to protect others, and protect yourself instead
