because they don't believe and thru making fun on it to justify their own believes that allow them to still do whatever they want
intelligent design is just a new way of reinventing creationism to fit the modern era so religion wont be left behind in the times
Science and religion aren't mutually exclusive. Evolution only explains how one species can turn into another over time, but it doesn't explain how life began in the first place. The big bang is a theory in which everything in existence just exploded out of nothingness, if that doesn't sound like God then I don't know what does.
Both are theory because existence of god is not proven either. Here is my theory of creationism + evolution which I called bullshitism. (yeah i know...i watch too much bullshit!) God did exist at one time and he created the big bang but in the process, he killed himself in the big bang. So there you have it. It explaing all the theories. God did exist, god did created the world but god died hence nobody can proof he exist. Nah..i am just bullshitting. Hehe..but I still don't believe god exist.
The thing about the creation-evolution debate is that you need to know a crapload of both sides in order to fully understand what it is you're backing. Ironically the more research you do, the more you realize more research/evidence is required to form a solid foundation against either point. Currently it seems that while species are proven to have the ability to change and develop into something more complex (or simple), one cannot disporve the fact that there is something greater, some guiding force out there.
I don't agree that there is guiding force out there. So, I can disprove that fact. And the more you look into creationism, the more you will find it ridiculous. There are too many "loopholes" in creationism story.

The problem with Creationism is that the Bible has to be the final correct hypothesis; all scientific evidence must be tailored to fit that model. This tail wagging the dog principle never really works in science (as an academic discipline), but seems to fit well with "science" (as a marketing tactic that generally cherry picks supporting "evidence" that often ignores real or academic science). The curious result of this (often missed by the religious right) is that it gives the appearance that their God needs to lie or make shit up, in order to gain worshipers. Years ago, most mainstream people used to laugh at the Hare Krishna followers; their weird dress and often flamboyant public behavior singled them out as being not really in touch with reality. On an intellectual level, Christianity has taken a similar turn; it has started to become so bizarre in its marketing (essentially a call for more worshipers), forgetting that faith does not need to be explained. If they pursue this path, the ultimate scientific question is, can you prove God exists then. If they can't then so much for their science AND the object of their beliefs; that is, if you can't prove it then it doesn't exist. The conundrum is that once they enter the scientific arena, they will have to play by science's (and not faith's) rules. :rolleyes2: Ralph
people can believe w/e they want, but creationism should not be taught as a science in schools. Creationism isn't a science, its more or less a pseudoscience, and if you can argue for teaching something along those lines, we might as well be learning alchemy alongside chemistry, and astrology alongside astronomy. Creationism cannot be verified whatsoever via hypothesis testing, and since it doesnt follow scientific method, nothing can be proven about it. Plus, if Creationism could be proven scientifically, there would be no need for "faith". The United States is the only country in the world, to my knowledge, that struggles with this debate, and its such an idiotic one. The annoying thing is that it continues to be propogated by prominent politicians who attempt to encourage votes amongst the lesser educated population within the country.
This is exactly the reason why the US must go to a system of one man one vote; the Electoral College is the only reason why a debate on creationism can even exist. <_< Ralph
No you don't need to know anything about Creationists' arguments. It's just a "god did it this way" or "god willed it" or "it was all part of god's plan" - quote a random bible verse.
You should read "The God Delusion" by (Professor?) Richard Dawkins then. The guy uses about six hundred Bible references and social experiments to demonstrate the absurdity of God and thus a creationist view. Personally I found the book intellectually stimulating and amusing. Back on topic. In my view, Creationists are not taken seriously because they attempt to enter the realm of science and then attempt to utilize the rules of faith against them. Much like an immigrant from a polygamy-legal nation entering a western nation, marrying two women at once and then using the laws from his homeland to support his actions. It doesn't quite work.
For those who have read "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins and are interested in the other side of the coin, there are many books that haver been published debunking the views raised in his book. The lastest one being "Answering the New Atheism: Dismantling Dawkins' Case Against God" by Scott Hahn and Benjamin Wiker ;
creationist are people with believes (the world is created by god only) I can't understand why they want to call it science. science is explaining how things work and creationism explains why things exist (god), adding god to the picture is adding believes. this my point of view, plz correct me if I have said anything that you don't agree on.
both evolutionist and creationist are not proven. The only thing that is proven are micro-evolution not macro as in species changing to another species. Micro does not proof macro scientifically. Same goes to creation by intelligent design since we can't empirically test the creator. so believe what you believe and end of the day its really your own belief. it takes 'faith' to believe everything happen by chance where all the molecules can come together to form the DNA in an instant at the right pressure, temperature and chemical condition as much as someone who has the 'faith' to believe an intelligent being created all things. so here you go... each to their own beliefs.
it's crazy christian fundamentalists who try to advance creationsim or disguised creationism, ID as oppose to evolution evolution is now commonly accepted as scientific fact. whoever supports teaching creationism in school is, well #)@%*$&(&$(&%(*$ (lol)
